I have a tradition with my kids. At dinner we share our high and low from the day right. It helps understand why they may be in a bad mood, or better yet a chance to share something cool that happened to them yanno. (Took the idea a couple years ago from the movie "Our Story" with Bruce Willis & Sally Fields.)

Rules are simple:

You can have a high and no low.
You can have more than one high/low.

You can NOT have a low with no high.

Got it?

So I'm thinking we should do it for the entire YEAR of 2007 ..
then we can switch to every day after we get that out of our system.

I'll start ....

HIGH: I had a great year health wise. So did my kids.

LOW: It wasn't quite so good on the financial end, but it's just $$. (which actually COULD be another HIGH )

What a fun idea!

HIGHS: My health, my job, my friends and family, my Buttercup and Buddy!! I moved across the state to a place where I knew no one. I've made some wonderful friends here and have become involved in volunteering in my community. For the first time in a long while I feel settled, at home.

LOWS: Some months the money doesn't stretch quite as far as I would like, but I guess I'm aboard a great big boat with a lot of folks in that respect. A couple of friends passed this year. One pretty close, one not so much, but folks who left their mark on my heart just the same.

High- was a good year for friends and school

low- bad year for relationships

high: My family in general very blessed this year


low: That I can wait to meet some of you......I want to badly.

low: No money for bills, i broke up with a guy like two weeks before christmas and there isnt a new one.

Anyway...

Low: My best friend moved pretty far away 3 weeks before my b-day and my mom's b/f passed away the day after my b-day.

High: Spending time with my friends and family. You should enjoy it while you can because you never know what'll happen.

I don't want to drag this thread off topic by talking about Metallica, lol, but I love a lot of their songs. Especially Sad But True. White Sox players (Jim Thome and Paul Konerko) use For Whom The Bell Tolls and Harvester of Sorrow as their music when they come up to bat.

well there ya go .. a HIGH for ya!

Yes, Sox games are a HUGE high for me. But every game I went to last season was with my dad, my friend that moved away, or my other close friend so I just generalized it with spending time with friends and family

Low: My son's accident in February
