How can I Search forums by keyword? Answer: You can't. Just browse thousands of posts. Real question is why don't they want you to?

while it would be an ideal addition, there could be server constraints in place that deter that request as excessive database queries could make the forums come to a crawl.

A fourm without search is almost useless. It is rare to not have a search function. On a system with millions of users, a text search would have little to no effect on the servers. The whole system is a big profile database search.
