If we all were to reread this thread as it has been written...
en sit back...reflect upon it for a moment. Tells us something about ourselves...our culture. Never say I am too old to learn, that is for sure.

I do understand where the original post is coming from tho. Instead of just discussing beliefs and sharing ideas, its more like a war zone with people shouting at each other. First theres the atheists yelling that theres no God and everyone who believes are stupid. Then theres the Christens themselves bickering over what the bible means as well as arguing with the atheists. And add to the mix all the other religions and its like a giant dynamite stick waiting to go off with the slightest spark.

Normally if I read something in here I feel the need to comment, and since I'm not very religious, my comments get ignored by all sides.

Point is, everyone treats each other according to the stereo types of whatever religion they believe, and as adults it makes the arguments so much more dumber because we should be mature about it.

But I could be wrong.

No, I think you get it...it is exactly how I felt reading the forums as someone who was very new to it all. That is why I asked the question.

To me I see alot of people do not really want to reason. Some of the most popular post are ones trying to draw you into something that has no substance. It tries to make you out a fool. So you continue to try to come up with something for a come back. Alot of the time we show our own foolishness in responding. To each his own though.I have no problem with anyone questioning what I believe as it makes me stronger. I do as the scriptures tell us when you continue in posts where they bash u even when you give them a reasonable answer. Then what you are doing is argueing with foolishness. It is not that they want to understand they want to see how foolish they can make you out to be. It is like the person who see's the sun shining but wants you to prove it is day time and not really night time because they claim it is dark outside. That you are the one who does not want to open your eyes because anyone can see it is dark outside. Would you stay in a discussion/debate over that? No I would hope. But relate that to some of the discussions you see on hear and they are debating to you really is it dark or is it day. May Yahweh Bless His Children....Shalom...Miles

I don't go to church but I am very much so a believer. I don't come in here cause I don't think we should argue over religion. It is not about your religion anyways, it is all about God. I think we should keep it that way.

it's not all about God any longer ..some of the faithful no longer include God in their religion, some even claim that Jesus is God some are even dumping God but keeping the religion or keeping the reigion but dumping the God and that is why it shall always be arguments pertaining to the religion when even the believers don't have the faith to all agree on the original belief

miles, my friend, you have said a mouthful.
several forums i have popped into today have just been futile
exercises in circular conversation.
I read something a while ago that says 'those with the least to say, speak the most'

This is so true. At first I really thought some of the posts were from people who were just trying to understand something that they were confused about. I actually thought maybe I could help in some way. Then I found out that mostly they were just trying to ridicule me for believing in God and it made me feel bad.

I was embarrassed reading some of the things a few believers were saying in response to the ridicule cast out to them as well. Getting mad and striking back was as appalling as the original ridicule was in the first place.

I personally had never experienced participating in any sort of forum and was intrigued originally. Now I feel some of the forums are just disguised war games. I have to admit though they are somewhat entertaining as well as challenging in an odd sort of way. I guess belittling others makes some feel bigger, better and smarter in their own minds.

I can’t wait to see the expression on their faces when they find out God really exists…
