“Shining through the dark cold night”

You walk in a place that’s dark and cold;
I understand that you may feel alone.
You can’t see me, or feel my touch,
And the words I speak to you,
May feel as if they are not worth very much.
Believe me when I say that you don’t walk alone,
I am here now and that’s what matters most.

I too know this place you wander;
I know the pain that the chilling darkness brings.
I offer my hand,
Follow my light,
I guide you to freedom,
But first you must look beyond the night.

This darkness is thick and the hole deep,
But just feel my love,
Follow your heart,
My love is what I give,
It is yours to keep,
Use it as your guide and it will be I that you shall meet.

Listen for me beyond your walls that are high and guarded well,
Hear my voice and follow it out of your dark hell.
I don’t seek to tear down the barriers to your heart.
Keep it strong and protect it well.
For there are others that may try to keep you in your hell.

Stay guarded, don’t trust their lie’s or take comfort in their false
light.
I shall wait outside;
By the gate to your soul.
Because what I wish to offer you is a place of warmth when you feel
cold.
But it can only come to be if you wish to join me.
Until that point I wait here…at a distance but never out of sight.

I offer you something I wished I had when I too was lost to the abyss.
I offer you a permanent bright light to overtake this dark night.
Use it for its warmth,
Use it to blanket your heart,
Use it as you see fit.
Because I shall stay forever luminous,
Forever bright.
I stay waiting for you,
Shining through your dark cold night.
