nice just doesnt cut it in our world anymore. the proof is that my ex
prefered booze to my understanding and patience.i love her still probly always will. but the nice guys always get burned. how many women have come to me for advice in their love life and when things went wrong in their life. but i never seemed to be the one in their sights. nice guys live a lonely life when they hit hard times. |

yes us nice guys ,,,
women will soon find a way to get your goats so to speak, then just when you think you have a chance, they throw you in th floor of emotional turmoil, pull a few heart strings, next thing you know, we are the ones who end up getting cheated on, or dumped for trying too hard, or doing too much for her, hot does this work? where is that fine line? between too much,(smothered) and love helping for love? |

so true
Not always true - goes both ways. The nice girls end up getting cheated
on and treated like dirt too. There are lots of women out there who want a nice guy. And, lots of guys who want a nice woman, just hawen't found the right one yet. Public - you are right about that - my ex thought like your dad. His idea of marriage was I will do what I want and you will do what I tell you. Glad you are not like that. |

so then why can't the nices girls and guys get together,
chunk th' rest of th' players to th' curb? we never seem to hook up, some go to find th bad boyz or naughty girls...why? |
Not sure, some are still looking for excitement and looking for the
"dangerous" guys still. Some have hang-ups over issues from past treatment by ex-spouses and are very cautious and afraid of getting hurt again??? Some have major trust issues due to the previous sentence. Some just are not in the right place at the right time???? Who knows, sometimes it just takes time and being willing to take the first step I guess. Some have "body" issues and are afraid of being put down or shunned for them??? Who knows??? Guess I sound like Dear Abby, I am not, but just my thoughts on the subject. |

you have a good point there marie

well I didn't mean you SPECIFICALLY sluggo lol...I said TOO MANY men,
BUT, having experienced having to do the work of the holidays primarily on yer own, you know exactly how too many women feel lol and thusly, amplified my point for me when you said you "don't start enjoying the holidays til dinner's over and by then yer tired and everyone is leaving". I got this one friend who has one of those pre-lit Christmas trees. Ya know, you attach the pieces together and throw some decorations on it and it's all set to go. Her husband won't even do that much. It's her job apparently. The real funny part is listening to him piss and moan cuz the tree isn't up yet. lmao..It's a 3 minute job, but apparently it's beyond his skills as an auto mechanic. |
Part 2 - I suspect there are men out there with the same issues as I
stated for the women. My guess is it takes time to get it right. |
but the question that spurred this,
how long? I've been making that step for many moons, all I really get is just keep steppin'... can't find th ONE for me,who really wants me for me.....M. |

that's exactly what it is Marie. And we get it right by growing up and
learning. I think what it comes down to for a LOT of ppl is insecurity. They don't want to be alone so they end up with someone they prolly wouldn't have if they were just taking their time and letting things happen. We want to RUSH into that relationship for whatever reasons we may have. Long term getting to know each other is no longer something we wanna do. Charm only lasts so long if it's fake. But how many take the time to MAKE SURE it is before leaping into a full blown committed realtionship? Slowwwww Downnnnnn. Enjoy the dating process for what it is and understand it for what it is. An opportunity to make sure this is the person you REALLY want to be with. And I'm sorry but a month or 2 don't cut it lol. Good things come to those who wait ;-) |

Your right Public - I was young, 19, way too young and got talked into
marriage and lived to regret it big time, but at that time it was the thing to do. Graduate high school, get married, have a family. Some kids went on to college, etc., I wanted to go to college, had been accepted, but the jackass talked me into marriage instead and believe me I have kicked myself ever since. Today it is more accepted to live together or to wait until you are older, was almost a fad in the 70s to hurry and get married right out of high school. Anyway, live and learn. I have learned a lot since then, and am being a lot more cautious in my "old" age, believe me. Michael, don't know what to tell you - just keep going. They say there is someone for everyone, just keep putting your best foot forward and hopefully you will meet her sooner, rather than later. Take care. Happy Thanksgiving guys. |

Dead last, Finished though
I can truly attest to the fact nice guys finish last. I am raising my
three children 2 biologically mine the oldest I have always been there for and gave her my last name. They hardly ever see their mother. I pay child support but hopefully that soon will stop. (I have to get a lawyer and a court order). It's tough working full time and raising 3 kids to boot, but I manage. I don't have much time to meet any women, but when my children need me, I am there. One day it will happen, I will meet a good woman. Nice guys are REAL men and more and more men are getting custody of their children, so I say there are more and more real men out there everyday. Anyhow, we may finish last, but I will finish with my 3 little angels by my side. Having given them the childhood and life they so deserve. |
well then you didn't finish last Mike. To be able to be the parent your
children need, makes you far more important to them then you would be to any woman. The 3 most important ppl in your life think you're #1 :-) |
