I went hunting yesterday with my dad. Saw a huge deer with (who had time to count them!) a lot of points---WAY legal according to regulations. Anyway, I shot and then tried to calm Daddy down. He was shaking worse than I was!

Anyway..............when I went down to the spot where he was shot....you guessed it....he wasn't there. So, we figured he was a reindeer and flew off, because the only other explanation would be that I missed. Not possible! LOL

Made some memories with my Daddy, though! Those will last until the end of time.........

personally im against all hunting, as i think its cruel.did it cross your mind that you might have shot it and its gone off some where in pain and dying? what enjoyment do you get out of killing animals..what do they do to you to make you want to kill them? im just curious to why people do it?

First and foremost...for the food! Both families live on a limited income, and the meat is not wasted. This year, too, the Game and Fish Commission is urging hunters to kill their limit as the deer population is so high. There are so many deer that there is no doubt they will starve during the winter season. All that said....

I do not feel bad that I attempted to #1 put food on the table #2 Prevent the starvation of an animal and #3 Share a father-daughter experience with my 80 year old father who is in ill health.

I am not the spokesperson for all hunters, believe me, but I am confident that the majority of hunters do so for many of the same reasons. I feel I can confidently say that it is not the desire of any hunter to wound/injure, and in fact look unkindly upon doing so.

grumble well I hope your daddy is happy that at least you tried to be hunter. I know I could not do it for the fear of missing and looking bad. bigsmile I like the hiking part of hunting and that is about it. Congrats.

This is for Jenny-look at it this way what if it got hit by a vehicle and it went off and died....or the person in the vehicle died...hunting can be what you make it not all like it but some do and that's what makes the world go around!!! To each there own...ohwell

I used to hunt until my knee got to bad. It put food on the table and I dont know about elsewhere, but the deer population here in Nebraska is so high, disease and starvation kill an estimated 20% of them each year, not to mention the ones hit by cars!!! I DO not believe in randon killing of any animal, but there is a reason they have deer and pheasant season, and it does take skill in bring down a buck, and I dont know of ANYONE Ive hunted with that would take anything but a sure shot at their target!

I can understand peoples objections to hunting, I know several people that feel the same way jenny does and it doesnt make them neccesarily wrong or bad, people just feel different about the issue and I respect ALL opinons on most subjects!!

I respect the right everyone has to voice his/her opinion as well. What I do not understand is not sticking around to hear the response or opinions of others, ESPECIALLY when a question is posed. A simple acknowledgement would suffice. But hey..........as was previously mentioned........it takes all kinds........

I can dig it.......

(do they still say that?!) laugh laugh

I can respect her opinion and all but don't down the people that do it.....the point was that Whisper got to spend quality time with her dad but it was taken out of context....no harm meant from me just don't harp on people that do hunt....
