The thunder rolls
as tears take their toll.
The heavens open
raining on a token
of an injured heart once again.
ruining the zen
of my hard earned peace and quiet
finally realizing i dont need a diet.
I should've known he was like them
I should've known i wasn't going to be his gem.
Time heals all wounds im told
but can time heal the cold
that threatens each day to take this heart
and change it from a work of art,
into something distant and dark.
I'm tired of the pain
and feeling as if one day i'll go insane
from being alone with a half a heart
all because i wasnt smart,
to give the other half of it
to the one who owned it.
Time wears on my heart,
and time allows me to start
on the inclusiveness of my soul...
