Does anyone know of a very very cheap way of getting the smoke smell out of my house? I'm trying to quit and have started going outside, but my house stinks.
I have been boiling cinnimon pine cones I picked up last week, but I have NO $$$ to buy anything else. Any herbs I might find in my cubord that might work? Fabreeze just ain't cutting the mustard. |

Either wash the walls or paint them, this will help tremendously. Also wash all your drapes/curtains.

Seriouslly though...get some oranges or limes or lemons and decorate them with cloves...just leave them out or put ribbons round them and hang them up...oh and dont forget to wash everything...the smell will go in a few days...also bicarb of soda is good placed round the house in little bowls...also good in the fridge to get rid of strong smells loitering...does not work on men though... |

Starting pissing in the corner of your living room?
Sorry.. Congrats on moving outdoors. The only thing I know of that really works is Ozone, activated charcoal and HEPA filtration. |

Get a spray bottle add water, vineger, and orange juice (squeezed). This will rid anything of any smells. Works great in your car too.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try all of them. I will have to wait to I can get my check, but I will hit the market and start putting things out.

LIL, I can wash the walls. I haven't the funds to spend washing the curtains and such. That will just have to wait. Some people just can't spend 20 bucks at a laundrymat to wash things

Have you got any fruit in the house...any spices...put them in the oven on a low heat and leave for a few hours, put in a pretty bowl as pot puree....(or simmer them on a stove...)use the cooled water to spray round the house afterwards....makes a good polish if you have used cloves...makes a good glass cleaner if you have not |

Right now I am boiling cinnimon pine cones and sticks. It is helping a bit. I can't use that as a spray though. I think it would stain. But my dad says cloves work good too. A bowl of coffee got the smell out of my fridge so I might try setting some around the house too. Thanks everyone for all the advice! But I think I'll pass on the urine....that might not sit well with my nostrils |

Try scented candles, even if you don't burn them. That may work. The best ones have a great scent, even without being lit.
