I tend to keep up an avitar or pretty pic to keep people away when I'm talking to someone....this is a dating site, so obvoiusly, there are going to be people who have found people, and don't want to leave because they have made friends here...

I've written volumes on the "useless profile syndrome." I really don't care one way or the other if someone uses a pic of them or a pic of a duck wearing a chef's hat, but if the profile is vapid or empty, I have to pass....
This is not just a dating site. Many ppl are here to make friends or simply socialize. Hint: the option to select what you are looking for, ranging from friendship to intimate encounter. If you are upset ppl don't have photos, then limit your search option to include ppl that do. We all have pet peeves about profiles. Here are some of mine: 1.)Ppl who write : My kids are my world and will always come first. "Duh" If you need to write that you've no idea how silly that looks. 2.) "If you want to know just ask". No, you take 15 minutes of being thoughtful and introspective and type it out for us. If you can't be bothered, why should I? 3.) Ppl who talk about their previous relationship or negative attitudes about the opposite sex. Get over it! You're advertising you're NOT ready to date. 4.) Ppl whp post photos of themselves with other women/men or their children. Worst yet, professional photos of just this very thing. Take your kids out and crop out the ex!!! See, you're not alone in your frustration. 1. I always say "I'm glad my spaceship doesn't go to THAT world!" 2. "Anything you want to know, you'll have to ask" and "I really don't know what to write" are my two biggest peeves. If you're too lazy to write three sentences about yourself, where's my incentive to want to meet you? 3. Yeah, I like the ones that start "Is there one man in the whole universe who isn't a selfish abusive loser with a random violent streak?" I keep thinking this must be a trick question. 4. If someone is going to post a photo of him/herself, it should be of him/herself. I see pics with 3 or 4 people all the time, and they never bother to tell you which one is them. It's like some kind of weird guessing game. |

If JSH is a dating site then why in heavens name don't people post a picture of themselves. It is such a waste of time posting cartoons etc.... Show yourselves, sell yourselves..... It's only a picture...... Look at me, 53 bald who cares, you'll meet the real me when we chat..... Hi! Now I think as a dating site this is almost a no go area But as a friends site I would give it 99% just try your luck !

I tend to tell them to F**k off instead of hiding behind one of my drawings...why date and hide...how can you pretend and be honest at the same time? first I would never tell someone to f**k off...I feel that is rude...I would rather simply tell them I'm taken... and second, I dont find a lack of advirtisement hiding, when I have a pic of myself up in my profile somewhere, it's simply what it is...non-advirtising. and mostly third...I am one of the most honest people that you will ever meet, and I DO take offence to your last statement. |

putting just friends doesnt always work.... thats when u gotta remind them once... if it continues u do have to be rude.... who cares if u "have to be rude"? if they continue on that u gotta hide behind a pic that is rediculas!! is it not rude that they keep trying to make a play on ya just cause u have a pic up?
