Hi Tom, Thank you so much for this information, I see now that the population of Polish people is large in States, thank you. 殺 I didn't realize that it looks like in this way. Please be so kind and tell me why if I will initiate a relationship with a man It will be an issue to get a green card? I rather would like to meet a man by only like a friend, who thanks to whom can I will know better the traditions and customs, history. And maybe I can better speak in English If it will be only a friend it will be an issue to get a green card too? Hello Tom, Thank you so much for your explanation. I understand what you mean now. My intention that I'm trying meet new people is meet a new people. First I would like known better a traditions and the way of thinking the people from your country, because I know that the conditions of live are different, are better. It is connected with a technological progress and because I was born in country which don't have all these amazing things like yours and for me it is a new that why I was wrote about way of thinking. For me it is a new for you it is a normal. I would like meet new people not for marriage but for friends first. Friend is for me is a very lengthy process. For me friend is a person whom you can rely on you and mutually. I think with my experience like you see, I have 45, that it is almost not impossible meet a true friend on life especially by network. My intention is not meet a man thanks to whom I can will try a get green card. When I was decided try on dating site, it was only a possibility a meeting new people with a possibility conversation not a one two mails but normally correspondence. Unfortunately I met a frauds on dating site and I was thinking that if I wrote a " Native American" then I will not meet any frauds but it was a foux pass like you know it now and thank to you I know it now My intention is a meeting new people, maybe to will find a common language in correspondence and conversation. I know that if the woman and man would like build a relationship it is very long time and it is no possible by network. I never not thinking that I can meet a man whom can I receive a green card. All my life I have to fight alone with be a single mom and I'm independent woman and I don't want to change it. Like you know in life we can get something only by a hard work. of course I'm dreaming about true love but this feeling is happen only in beautiful romantic films like on Hallmark Channel |

Nicole, thank you for making your intent clearer.
everyone here at m2 encounters frauds. it is part of the nature of the beast. you write fairly well and i believe you will master this language rather quickly. one suggestion i might make is if you have a tv with closed captioning ability, try setting it to english so you can see english words as applied to a language you understand being spoken. it might help? as for friendships, they are easy most of the time. i assume by network you mean what most people call 'online' or 'being online'. many great friendships start online. another suggestion, put an enlish language dictionary near your favorite chair. when idle, read it. you can also read english books, magazines or websites. once you have a comfortable flow with the words, you can look at all the inflections of how we talk. for instance, people often say things in a certain way to indicate personal things differently. often according to how they feel. the usa is diverse and has many cultures and traditions. its a melting pot of different people with heritage all over the world. the usa difference is that the cultures mesh into a new culture that reflects our values and attitudes. just like the rest of the world we have different interests and values among our people. our communities are predominant of certain cultures but there is a mix of cultures thrown in at random. i grew up in a pennsylvania dutch/amish area. i lived in a community in missouri later that was predominantly french. you can find different dominant cultures in the different communities which make up our nation. there are irish communities which have french residents, polish residents, celtic resident and many others. we have a mix of cusine and you can find any number of culture specific restaurants and festivals around the country. I once went to an irish festival in missouri. it was fun and interesting to me because i am celtic heritage. my sister speaks and writes gaelic. in the usa, you can find a lot of posturing and agressive people but you also find many caring and friendly people. like any nation, we are hard working and hard playing people. lots of people joke around, have fun making the people they care about laugh. you need to take care with who you talk with because many people say things they think. sometimes it can be hurtful if you cant understand their inflections. just remember not everyone is worthy of friendship. you have to make the right decision - right choice when building friendships, just like any other place in the world. |

its common in the states for an education system to be called a 'school'.
uni or university indicates advanced learning places like colleges, trade schools and ojt (on the job training). our primary schools are k-12. most of our children start kindergarten at age 5 and advance through grades 1-12 each year. to legally drive a car we go to the dmv (division of motor vehicles) and must register the car annually. some states - not all, require a safety inspection and some require an emissions inspection. everyone who drives a car on the road is required to have valid insurance. some people don't and they can lose their driver's licence or pay a stiff fine. entertainment ranges from watching tv to skydiving. its pretty much the same as in any 1st world country. we have bars, nightclubs, concerts, amusement parks, water parks, walking trails and a huge assortment of other entertainment facilities. as you read thru these forums you will find out about many nation specific attitudes and interests. most people like to talk about their hobbies and cultures. as you learn about the meaning of words we write you will learn many of those meanings can change. we also have lots of slang. 'beat it' - can mean hit something but it can also mean to leave a place. 'stranger' - can mean someone you do not know yet but can also mean endearment when meeting up with a friend after a long time. you might hear someone say "hi stranger" even if you know they know that person. just two examples of words having different meaning by context (the parts of a written or spoken statement that precede or follow a specific word or passage, usually influencing its meaning or effect. the set of circumstances or facts that surround a particular event, situation, etc.) 'making fun of' - can mean making something not fun, fun to do. it can also mean ridicule. sometimes people make fun of someone as an endearment. the context determines if its bad or good. like any other place in the world, people expect respect. if respect is violated it can bring harsh repercussions. people also lie and are facetious. sometimes in fun and sometimes as a deception. you could offer some topics on the cultural differences you want to know about. there are many. |

Tom, Thank you so much 🥰 for your good intention, and your time. All you wrote me, it helps me a lot. I'm happy that I wrote this post and thanks to you I can get know to much new very interesting points of view from the world. You have a very interesting life , and you can known so many beautiful culture and people. Your sister speaks and writes gaelic, it is amazing. About cusine , and your experience , wow for meit is so wonderful. If I only can a chance see it in my life and taste the cuisine from all over the world it will be like a wonderful travel I can imagine how it looks like, and how it smelt wonderfully and taste if we can try new cusine. Thank you for your advice about English. I'm watching on youtube channel films about photography, and astronomy because I love it. I was watching a feature films too but without subtitles very often and it is a much more difficult understand it, but everything is depends of film, for example I was watching "Good wife" and "Good fight" series and it wasn't a issue for me understand , but "North and South" which I was watching in polish a rears ago, now I was watching it in English and it is much more difficult to understand without subtitles. I think that if I find much more self-denial in me it will be easier, unfortunately in my age 45 it is not easy learn new words and remember it than I was 18 You know that much easier is learning new English especially spoken language by conversation "on life" But everything is possibile if only we want it and will put it hearts and time and work. You are right about friendship and friends, all depends of people whom we meet in our life, but it is so important be careful especially in online. I was thinking that frauds only "hunting" on woman but I see that on men too, it is sad but like you wrote this is a world of XXI century. It makes me happy that you wrote that many great friendship starts online. |

there are many here who only speak and write english and even that is a slang heavy english. i only speak and read/write english. i never elected to learn a second language in school.
I watch a lot of movies with subtitles, many times the intent gets lost in translation. its not just you, many have trouble with other languages. but you do pick up on things the more you experience them. plus, understanding cultural differences helps make things clearer. however, you have to be watching a film with well-written subtitles. there can be a big difference in culture in different regions of this country. even with people of similar heritage. in my own experience; people in the north east are usually ambitious and slightly aggressive. in the south usually laid back and openly friendly. in the mid west, expecting and industrious. in the west, casual and influential. there's also a difference between people who live in large cities and those who live in rural communities. those differences usually have something to do with how much patience a person has. these different attitudes translate into how we communicate. words and phrases have different impact and intensity. there is also different words and phrases, accents and behaviors. when you meet different people from the states its important to realize they are often different depending on; where they are located their culture and heritage whether they live in a city or a rural area their education level their personal life experiences. taking with someone from new york will give you a different sample than someone from minnesota, texas or california. each will give you a slice of the same pie but with different tastes. like a sampler platter. once you experience all the differences you find the common ground and that is united states culture. the combined common ground. one thing to try to remember is people are not easily labeled. some people in the north east are laid back and openly friendly. its a mix. we have the same faults and strengths as the rest of the free world but we have money and technology other countries do not. freedoms you long for are usually commonplace here. one thing you can do is go to some websites about common attractions in this country. state park websites, camping websites, community governing websites and look at the rules of the place. you will see what is prohibited and by omission, what is permitted. usually if there is a unique rule someplace it is there because people tend to do it. those unique rules change for different areas of the country. there are also standard rules usually having to do with respect for others and respect for the establishment. there are different dress codes, common dress codes and taboo dress codes in different parts of the country. there are heavily religious communities and science themed communities. there are sub-divisions, gated communities and housing blocks. there are business districts, tourist communities and farming communities all within a single state. you can drive across the states without a passport but you do need an id which is often in the form of a driver's license. there are no gates or check points at our state borders except where there is a country crossing for canada and mexico. each state has its own tax system. different states tax different things at different rates. Eleven of the states that exempt groceries from their sales tax base include both soda and candy in their definition of groceries: Arizona, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, South Carolina, Vermont, and Wyoming. Five states - Alaska, Montana, New Hampshire and Delaware - have no state sales tax at all, ever. And for back-to-school wardrobes, Minnesota, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, New York and Vermont all exempt certain clothing, footwear and accessories from state sales tax year round. have fun exploring my country |

It was a pleasure for me to read all those interesting new information. Once I get to know States from movies, news and newspapers, maybe in the future life will allow me, that I will be able to visit at least a small part of this beautiful country at least once, maybe I will be able to share my impressions with you. It is my dream I know, maybe it will stay only like a dream but always it will be in my heart this feeling that it exist a hope. Thank you so much for this beautiful travel on last days and today. Well anerica is definitely diverse. Most states have many nationalities in them. And even those of us who have been born, and lived here all of our lives don't know all the traditions. And pretty much as for the history more of it is forgotten than remembered as time moves on.
*Note to self* stop clicking on posts after tom. |

John Hello John, Nice to meet you. What do mean by " friends with benefits"? For me a friend doesn't mean a usual acquaintance, it is much more. A friend is someone who comes when others leave, and someone we can always rely on mutually! Have a nice day |
