Cutie whatever you choose to do, make 2 separate backups of everything on your phone before doing anything else. SD card memories and USB stick memories, external drives, and computers can and do fail, sometimes earlier than you expect. 2 backups in 2 different memories has you covered.
Even then, if it's not all printed in hard copy, you don't really have it.
And if your new phone doesn't like any older files, you can convert them to what it does like, while keeping the original data and formats, without losing them.

I have an LG and I've always had great luck with their products; (get ready to laugh at me) but until about 5 years ago I had the same LG flip phone for 11 years.
It never failed me, never even replaced the battery. Very good phone, of course not for texting but being the dinosaur I am I like to TALK on my phone....................

Oh yeah the camera wasn't too great with the flip phone either.
Like Kristi I'm with Verison and have been for about 15 years.

I love my phone. I am glad I purchased it.
