ididn't understand it.....what like he traveled through time and saw the futur... he said he didn't want to be alone ... so that frank guy came and said 28 day the world will end...donnie.. lives through the 28 days and nothing but tragedy happens so when he comes back to the present he laughs because it doesn't happen any better so he ends up dying any way almost to make others lives better basically he realize his family was goin to die by tha end of tha world, he knew a plane would crash , he started realizin he was not meant to live but to show others they can live on, he also knew he too good for this world, so he was there for almost everyone and also stood up for wat he beleieved in and yea he was happy to know everyone will be ok since he knew he had to die to save them |

Plus, watching a movie with no expectations, and no idea what it's about also helps a lot to the confusion. |

donnie darko is a fantastic movie. very singular in its vision. the kind of movie you need to watch a couple times. and hello, could jake gyllenhaul be any more romantic and adorable.
