You said "follow me"
And I inclined my heart to letting you draw me away From from the refuge of my invulnerability While you came to me Like a thief in the night to steal away The heaviness of my heart That I may test again the waters of presence Can I let myself drown in them this time? Does trust demand that i walk on water? Tasting this moment Without a taste left in my mouth Laying behind the old news for the new ones Seeing you for the first time every time Falling Falling Falling Into this luminous instance of your divine company Rising Rising Rising From the lingering heart And its sullen gaze back That leaves me to be a pillar of salt That has lost its savor Salt me with fire Set my awareness ablaze Of the love the moment holds That holds the moment Waiting patiently for my embrace again Like the love after the fight How much sweeter is home to my prodigal heart |
