I had 28 years with a 25 year marriage.
Ended because I got disabled and couldn't work anymore. I was home and could actually see what she does. She was someone I didn't want in my life. Its important to realize ya don't own the other person and you certainly don't experience life behind her eyes. I thought I knew my X but she surprised me. We all change constantly. Sometimes who we expect them to be is not who they actually are. But then, it flips as well. We become someone they didn't expect. The betrayal is tough to deal with and at first, its depressing as hell. However, as time passes and you rediscover yourself, it does get easier. I was fortunate all 4 of my kids were grown adults. I wouldn't have filed if they were younger and vulnerable. I am still parenting them due to their mother's lies and narcissism. She may not be my wife anymore but she is still their mother and still does damage that pisses me off. But, my kids are onto her antics so they are insulated a lil. Finding someone after such a long time is daunting. It can happen (I found someone again here) if you use this tool right. In the mean time its best to be comfortable living alone. You can be alone but not feel lonely. Good luck and welcome to M2 forums. If you read the different threads, you can gain some great insight into this world of dating again. Set yer mail filters and use common sense. Its a free dating tool on the internet. It attracts all sorts. Choose wisely |

Good advice from Tom
It’s a difficult time for you regardless of how long you were together. I was with my ex 38 yrs and although I couldn’t see it then, I am a happier person now. Just give yourself time to breathe, adjust to your new circumstances and more importantly to grieve for what you thought you had. Life will get better! Welcome to Mingle2 |
