That just reminded me of my youth...
When everyone -EVERYone -went to the mall...
I usually couldn't afford even a slice of Sbarro cheese pizza,
but the food court was an awesome place to meet people...
better than online stuff by far...
lots of tables with circles of friends....
someone from one table would know someone from another table,
so you could meet people through other people...
They were likely to be there next time, so you had time to overcome nerves if you wanted to talk to a cutie...

I should go to the mall and reminisce... maybe even buy something now that I can.

There are not enough ways to actually meet and talk to people other than bars, but I recommend finding some -get a hangout -nice coffee shop or something -free wifi -cheap coffee -and just smile and say hi to people -no rush -things will happen organically. We're too isolated these days, anyway.
