One of the 'social' functions in this community is the religion Chat. So I thought it would be interesting to see the 'building' of religions.

There are so many religions and so many various views within religions. I thought it would be interesting to see how a 'doctrine' might be created.

So here's the idea. Create a thread call it "doctrine of (insert you heading) and begin to create a doctrine of your beliefs. The point would be to gather followers, even to continue to 'build' the doctrine as all members agree with new points.

We can then view each others threads and see the ideas and watch how they evolve.

This is an exercise that will require tolerance. One can enter any thread at any time and make a 'relavent' comment or ask a question for the purpose of determining if this is a 'religion' one might be interested in. NO DEROGETORY COMMENTS, each thread MUST be treated with respect and should be viewed as a learning experience.

This is a 'thinking' exercise, in which you create how you wish to worship and what you wish to believe. If there is disagreement within the 'membership' of a thread, there is no foul and the members must decide how to proceed.

After a week or so, when a membership has built up, I will pose some questions or create a scenario which all the 'major' religious threads will be asked to deal with, in accordance with their doctrines.

A GAME OF RELIGIOUS 'RISK'.

Any questions - post them here. Any major issues, with thread interlopers, contact the 'authorities' of our JSH community.

All those who love to proselytize, here is your opportunity to become a minister and together with like thinkers/believers form your own doctrine. This way others can see what you believe, without knocking it down.

I will post the first thread, but only if I get others who are interested in a tolerant discourse, willing to lay bare their beliefs and assert them with others (the congregation).

To examine what I believe and do is not much to say or it would be to much to say. I believe That as in Malichi I am to help bring back the Law of Moses as it says to remember. Jude 3 says of the faith once delivered. Then Yahshua speaking of Divorce said it was not so in the beginning. We are to continue Yahshua;s ministry started in Luke 4:18. We are the EliYah the John the Baptists of this time. He being said to of been EliYah by Yahshua. We do the same when we do the meaning of EliYah's name, My Elohim is Yahweh. That Yahshua does not give us salvation but that his father has granted it be done through his sons love for us. Giving us the Holy Spirit which is the same as Yahsua had. This being the will of Yahweh. The scriptures are not devided into 2 books. But that the lying pen of the scribe had this done. purposely to mask the Law of Moses still being in affect. Just making it the Old sums up that it is outdated not needed anymore. When quite the oppisite. The disciples when they spoke of doctrine it was the Law and the Prophets. They did not have another testement as it was a collection of inspired letters. So my belief is TO THE LAW AND THE TESTIMONY WE SHALL SPEAK. HLESSINGS OF HOPE..mILES

So what you are saying is that; we are to begin anew, a new religion of sorts with or with out the use of ...oh lets say; "God" or "Mohamed" that sort of thing?
Just start up with a belief, and run with it??

In this world (the JSH world) you have the right to define (within your own religion) what a cult is. We may indeed see religious doctrine that is not mainstream. That's the point of the exercise. To ALLOW others to have thier view, to discuss thier particular doctrine choices with like minded people - is that not the nature of religious organizations?

I think it was Farel who created the Christian Coffeshop thread.
There is safe haven there. It would be my hope that this particualar excercise would also find 'safe haven'. BUT, it would also be a place for us to ACTUALLY witness what goes on in the development of doctrine.

Further, if we get that far, once I propse certain scenarios, we can also see, how that doctrine would play out given circumstances.

Perhaps this would strengthen our tolerance levels and allow us to view others through their beliefs, rather than in spite of them.

DONT GET ME WRONG - this is not an exercise in intensity, after all, we are here to enjoy the company. So fun is in, enjoyment is not left behind. We might find fun with this yet and get to know people from behind a mask of bias.

Come on 'lizard', don't give up on yourself so quickly.

I'd give up worshipping 'ME', to worship 'YOU' any old day!!!

Gi'me your dogma, ... and I'll worship ya' !!!

kat, kat, KAT - WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!. I have so been missing you. I hope you and yours are well, been thinking a LOT about you lately.

In answer to the questions - Lizard, have at it!

Kat, one can make up a religion, but REMEMBER we are attempting an exercise of tolerance, therefore, closely relating one's own religion may be the best way to proceed. However, being an athiest, I may create my own, or I may abandon it and join another, whose doctrine I think I could live with. You see! In the end, it comes down to what people would be willing to believe for the sake of 'peace' in the world. Part of that must include tolerance.

Make more sense?

For my own reasons... I would not attept to 'gather followers' for my sake...

If what I believe helps just one person to find inner peace through my verbage, then I have succeeded.

I wish nothing but inner peace for all.

I'd buy into that right away 'creative'. You thonk I could be a Bishop in your new Church 'creative'. I've always dreamt of being a bishop, with those tall 'hard' hats!!!

All jokes apart, that was very well put 'creative'. 'NO GATHERING', just standing firmly for 'self' inner peace for all. I want to hear more!

Agree totally with red that those two are missing!!! Their spirit, and light are missing!

Let's put out a 'get back here now' WARRANT in their names, that always works!!!

Miles - you have proven your ability to be a valid and good teacher. You have also, often shown a very level view and extended courtesy and tolerance many times.

In this exercise, if I HAD to choose a Christian doctrine, it would very likely be yours. Only because you have gone so far and above others to extend your beliefs, without specific intrusion.

But if you would like to join another group, for the sake of the exercise, I'm sure you would be a most welcome member. I know you would be so in my new group. "The doctrine of the All That Is".

Peace to you forever, Miles.

Creative - be your name. How about "The Doctrine of the Inner Peace"? The purpose is not to ask that anyone deny their true beliefs, in fact, it would be of great value to all concerned if people could very closely assimilate their own beliefs.

But you see, that is the tolerance part of the exercise. A group of people who are drawn to a thought, an idea, and from there built on it. If some simply CAN NOT accept without a particular 'moral' or doctrine specification, than the others must decide can THEY live WITH IT for the sake of keeping the 'congregation' together?

It's more than just a game of name your beliefs, it's also an exercise in tolerance, within and between the various doctrines.

Redy,

I am not at all comfortable with any particular doctrine being attributed to me. I am far too inexperienced and under-read to have any definitive answers that would fit all. I am more than comfortable with the notion of sharing beliefs especially when done so with the purpose of building bridges for a common growth of understanding.

I actually would be more likely to approach this 'exercise' within the context of your 'All That Is' thread, as that notion is incorporated into what I believe.

I would like nothing more than to witness people having the ability to find what I believe already exists within themselves, through means of self-recognition. The systematic and humble approach to understanding why and how one has come to believe what one does. I believe that is what leads one to inner peace. The removal of all that is not in order to find all that is.

Oh my goodness, Creative of course you are more than welcome to join in any new doctrine thread. You would be a most valuable member to any group.

We must all remember that, just like real life, people may skip from one thread to another, as well. That's ok too. In a period of about 7 years, I was inside more churches, temples and synogogs (? spelling) than most people even know exist. HAHA.

Feel free my friend to follow your will in this matter.

You are all making me so happy to show such interest in this venture.

A good way to get away from all the negative that has been going on here lately.

I'm not at all sure as to what to say : Let me start here.

In the religious congregation I am affiliated with; it is our belief that All are welcome. That we are expected to be free thinkers and ask questions. Voice our opinions. Being "sinners" so to speak, we all have something that we need fulfilled. Whether it be someone to talk to, to cry with, or to learn with.
Maybe even find. It seems we are all looking to find something. Wanting, wishing, believing, or not believing.
All being welcomed; means even if you are still actively doing what most churches or religious affiliations will not tolerate.
We have active strippers, bikers (jackets), drunks, addicts, prostitutes. They are made to feel comfortable. Loved, cherished as any human has the right to feel.

My holy home, "church" is fantastic. Tattos, piercings, hair of every color is welcome. We have young, old, rich, poor, very poor. raggedy, overdressed, colorful, and most of all....fantastic people at that place. The atmosphere is one that when you walk in...the air is filled with something so joyful, so different than just before you entered.

The movement, the attitude is one to be seen as a blossom of a rose. It just blooms into such a beautiful, awesome experience. The music alone...the talent we have come into those doors is amazing. The choir is not one that is only the same ole people. They change and let all who care, become a singer.
"The beliefs that we use to define our own individuality, what makes us unique - good, bad, or indifferent - from other individuals."
"Only those who have learned the power of sincere and selfless contribution experience life's deepest joy: true fulfillment."
"It is in our moments of decision that our destiny is shaped."
"ask and you shall receive. If you ask a terrible question, you'll get a terrible answer. Your mental computer is ever ready to serve you, and whatever question you give it, it will surely come up with an answer."

They offer marriage counseling, budgeting, weight loss plans, help for those just coming out of institutions.

What is taught is tolerance, love, value. To be who we really are and to love ourselves for it. To reach out to our world and become active in life. To live it to it's fullest without fear.

To not become preachers, but to be an example. When asked by someone what we are; not to try and recruit them, but to let them think for themselves and see what we have, that they might want. Seekers seek, but can be turned away fast.
The truth is that nothing has to happen in order for you to feel good."

"Everything in life happens for a reason and a purpose, and it serves us."
"Your capability is constant, but how much of it you use depends upon the identity you have for yourself."

"We look at what we do to determine who we are."

We shape our perception of who we are, what we're capable of, and what we're willing to do to achieve our dreams."

We believe Jesus is faithful, loving. and just. That He is forgiving of all that we have done if we actively seek him. That His plan for us is to flourish, live, and make mistakes. Learn by them, live because of them.

Our belief is that we have a basic and human link for self empowerment and esteem:
If we call in victory. Start calling-in divine health. Start calling-in abundance. We can prophesize our future." "If you wanna know where you'll be five years from now listen to what you are saying."

"There's power in what you visualize"
"Your circumstances will line up with your words." "Words are like seeds, they have creative power." "The more you talk about it the more you will recieve." "Your words will give life to what you are saying." "You can change your world by simply changing your words."

"You may have sickness in your body, you need to call in health. You may be in debt, you need to boldly say that you are the head and not the tail."

"Your life is full of potential. And this moment can determine your destiny".

"Fear is a force just like faith is a force. If you give into fear and start to dwell on that junk and start to act on it, that fear can actually bring things to pass just like faith can bring things to pass.

"It's the same way with us. We have to conceive it on the inside before we're ever going to receive it on the outside. If you don't think you can have something good, then you never will. The barrier is in your mind."

"You must conceive it in your heart and mind before you can receive it."
