Do you consume nutritional shakes like Boost,Premier,Ensure,Core Power?
Some Dr.s recommend them after surgery to promote healing, after first checking your calcium and kidney function of course. I began when my weight dropped to near 140 during chemo from lack of appetite. Now it's a coupla times a week as a supplement ,along w/ a daily multi and balanced diet. It seems advertising for these is aimed at seniors and I do clip the coupons for Ensure cause it can be kinda spendy anyone else? |

I think they are probably a rip off, mostly whey powder, sugar, and chemicals.
Buy a blender and make your own. |

More than a year ago, I was hospitalized for two weeks. I lost 10 lbs from lack of appetite... or I just didn't like hospital food. I was actually happy to lose 10 lbs lol. I eat what I want in moderation and has not needed nutritional shakes.. so far so good. Maintaining my weight.

I don't think it could hurt HF You need the complete protiens and vitimins etc.
But studies have shown that there appears to be little benifit to be gained from suppliments in the long term as long as a reasonably varied diet is adhered to. Making your own shakes is a much better way in general |
