6 mos is just a puppy... Obedience training is crucial and should be the first step before the pound. Dogs aren't children but when you take on that responsibility you should do EVERYTHING in your power to make it work before giving it away... He didn't ask to be owned you wanted to own him.. He is a puppy and an animal and will not know right from wrong until he's taught... Not "so" different from us in that way... The pound is not the answer...

Ok wait I just read your last post.. I do not believe it's possible for a 6 month old puppy to attack a human and not be playing and if it is aggression are you saying you cannot control a 6 month old puppy? My boxer used to get a little excited and try to be Alpha and bit the feet or toes.. I let him know who's Alpha and he doesn't go near the face ever, he knows better and all I have to do is hold up a piece of paper.. I swear I never beat him but something about the sound makes him perk up and sit nice... Dogs are lovable and loyal it is killing me hearing about a 6 month old puppy being talked about like he's friggin CUJO for crying out loud! I think you don't want him anymore because you can't be bothered with what it takes to actually properly care for an animal...

acctuly i can i have 2 8 week old kittens that i rasied from birth and other cats 2 and i do wanna keep the dog i want the dog to stay i dont care about the bitting and i am trying to train him i want him to stay becase he for the most part is a good dog besides the bitting

And YES a rolled up paper, the sound makes a dog "freak" and it get's thier attention very well. Does not hurt them at all, but the sound frightens them and they pay attention..

My pit she is very protective of her terriotory. If she does not know I am around, then she is the "protector" of the house. if someone comes to the door, she barks and lets them know, they better not come in...but if i am there she does nothing because she knows "daddy is here and he takes care of everything". Even if she does not know I am around and she starts barking, all I have to do is say "navi, I'm here" and she shuts up and goes to lay down. So she knows very well.

So try the rolled up newspaper to stop the "attacks" as you call it. I bet that puts you back in charge pretty fast..once he;s sees you rolling up a paper, he's gonna start to hide and get the message.

I have trained many dogs.it starts with eye contact..
you have to be firm,and make the dog understand the
word NO.
say no,shake a roled up newspaper at its nose,smack
your hand with it and say no.....

carry milk bones,and when he listens tell him hes good..
give him a bone..

he is a pit...they love to play..get some rope and play wiyh him alot.

have pitts and love them like my own children.

I have rolled them on to their backs and have held them down when they thought they were going to be rough(even when playing)and spoke stearnly "No" to teach them.
Never have I ever had an issue of them ever biting,because they know that I am the master.

Rolled newspaper slapped in your palm gets the attention also.

I have had Chow Chows. I would take an empty soda can and put pennies or rocks in it. I carried it around in my pocket. Everytime the dog would act up, I would give the soda can a shake and firmly say no while looking at his eyes. It worked with one dog.

The other dog worked better with the rolled up newspaper hitting the palm of my hand while I firmly said no.

These are just ideas to consider.
