People often ask what makes caregiving worthwhile
To me it's the respect and their smile
As I have always had a giving heart
I've always tried to help and do my part
There were days I'd stuggle and was grim
Everything seemed to change the day I met him
The day my journey lead me to a wonderful gentleman
That was the day my professional relationship truly began
Before meeting you, I felt I hadn't given enough
After meeting you,you taught me to be tough
When my heart had lost all hope
You gave the courage to cope
You seemed to go that long and extra mile
Just to see my heart laugh and smile
Then came the day you took your final sigh
You had to leave without saying goodbye
Even though your days here are through
My memories of you keep me from being blue
You and I will never be far apart
