“Thinking of You”

Mom it has been many years.
There have been so many shed tears.
Wondering why did you have to go.
You were not there to watch me grow.

Only God knows.
Why it was you he chose.
I have heard so many times before.
We must deal with what life has in store.

But that does not answer why.
Did God not have enough Angels to fly?
I was just a baby.
So many times I have wondered maybe.

How things could have been.
But instead it is my heart you were within.
I never had that chance.
Just to look upon your face and glance.

To see that smile as you look back at me.
Oh how sweet that would be.
Just to have those memories today.
Right here in my heart to stash away.

But it was not meant to be.
I never even got to see.
What life could be like.
With a mother when I was a tyke.

Mother I miss you so very much.
Never getting to feel your touch.
God took and Angel home above.
I want you to know I send you my love.
