It depends what side he carries his sword on
It is a behaviour that dates back to the Middle Ages .. a knight generally carried his sword on the left . I am not sure today it has the same significance or that it has been imprinted on the younger generation . If a man wishes to pay homage to his lady he should be guided by her heart and what makes her feel safe . As always it is about respect and affection . |

In this case it isn't about the etiquette or morals of what you feel.
I too believe in the safe side as well as many other male/female interactions based on care and respect for another. The issue is the fact that a stranger interjects their morals onto others. I have told some friends over the years that the woman and children should be on the inside furthest from traffic danger. The difference was the fact that they were friends. We knew each other. I however did not correct them when they failed to follow my suggestion because they have the right to do as they please just like me. This instance (with the strangers) is a perfect example of someone who is a control freak. If you think about the mind of a control freak, often it is narcissistic or has poor self-esteem or self-esteem based on a need to win and be in charge of everything. Someone who was probably ignored during their personality forming years. If the control freak is in public involving strangers I would be very suspicious of their motives in a personal relationship. No thank you. |

Just a couple of minutes ago, I was outside walking on an upward road. Three people were coming-two guys and a lady- in opposite direction. At the same time i saw a car pass them. (By the way the lady is not in the middle or to the safe side of the road, if you know what i mean) When they reached to where i was, i told the lady to be on the safe side and the guys to change places with her. Then some men who were standing nearby yelled at me and said why favor the female genre? And they also said that we males are people. I ignored them and left. and the lady started walking on the safe side. What do y'all think if you were in this situation? You know for me ladies are precious. Its not being against males. Its just that ladies offer more and we should protect them should all men and women adopt your values ??? Just something to consider |

I agree with the etiquette of women walking on the inside on a road. This actually saved me from injury once. Although my boyfriend got struck by the drunk driver which wasn't good either but he protected me. Feminist or not, I still believe in politeness and proper etiquette. I can only speak for myself and not other women. I only want equality when it comes to equal pay and the same opportunities as men. I still want to be treated like a lady. |

Answering your question....No, no one shoould adopt my values. After all everybody is a different individual. They should do as he/she feels As you said i dont confront or intend to confront everyone on the street. Its pure instinct when the car passed by I did that |
