You can prevent people contacting you beyond a distance that you set in your filters. Should help in avoiding those you feel live too far away. Why would you restrict people based on distance.That's descrimination.They are never too far away to come to my place. Dude, everyone discriminates somehow when selecting a person to date. If a man wants to be with a woman who is half way around the world, then he should do the traveling, not her. Thought you would recognize tongue in cheek David.On a more serious note why is the onus on the man to travel,other than from a possible safety factor ? Would you expect a man with a nice home and a secure job to drop everything ? You'd do better if you had a photo (unless you're real scary looking).

You'd do better if you had a photo (unless you're real scary looking). Appreciate the advice but then I'd worry that they just wanted me for my good looks Hey, I am 'faceless' too, for the same particular reason and other specific reasons :)

If all one is looking for is a simple date, then distance would be more of a consideration. If one is looking for the most compatible lifetime partner, having a restrictive distance requirement would be more of an obstacle to that result. I have never seen a memo that said a person's "soulmate" (or however you want to refer to them) was guaranteed to be in close proximity. If you restrict your search to 50 miles or less, what if the perfect person for you is 51 miles away? You're willing to drive 50 miles, but not 1 mile further?
