I rely on my intuition when it comes to people either in real life or the internet and I'm very rarely, if ever, wrong. Besides, I never keep sensitive information on my computer, I write it all down and that way someone would have to break in and steal it. I agree that technology has allowed fraud to flourish with the resulting loss of automatic trust we've come to expectvliving in civil societies but you just have to think about these things for a second or two and most of it becomes obvious.Besides, I think that anyone who tried to raid my bank account or steal my identity would end up being very disappointed

Ah i see what you guys mean. I stand corrected. The definition of xenophobia has changed . I have an ancient Victorian dictionary that gives the definition as " A habitual fear and mistrust of strangers"lol
loads of words have done this, changed definition, or even meaning. I couldn't say for example " I'm feeling gay today" if I was feeling happy. I stand corrected. any chance of deleting the thread lol. |

Lol, reminds me of one of those exercises in school where a class of 30 students stand in a circle and one starts with saying something. By time it gets to the last student the statement changed completely. Guess as time passed people added to the original meaning of the word. :) |

Is harder to trust people after being betrayed by people you thought were your friends The topic of this thread is XENOPHOBIA. Do you know what that means? Not about trust!!! XENOPHOBIA is the fear and HATRED of foreigners, people from different cultures, or strangers. It is fear or dislike of the customs, dress, etc., of people who are culturally different from oneself. In plain word, it means racism. See, nothing to do with trust as the OP thought it was and apparently not a lot of people really care what word one uses as long as it sounds superior. Are you a xenophobe, Lookingformarriage? |

I read the title and thought "xenophobia" was the fear of being attacked/hunted/killed by a xenomorph.
I'm dissappointed to realize its just another thread about racism. |
