Topic: The Place Between | |

Just what our souls are searching for, and who are we to trust;
The truth, the lies, rueful disguises consistently coercing us. Along this perilous journey we must face eternity and go; Down unsafe paths, bereft always of love and freezing cold. Old man wandering alone, tell me, what have you to say? Has life left you yourself to lose the memories you've gained? Who is here to listen, does the world sympathize; Or just nod their heads and pity you with condescending eyes? Sweet child, innocent and young, you too are dubbed the foolish one; For your journey's still intended and your life has just begun. Branded naïve and taught to believe whatever you are told; Bound to this truth, sheltered in youth, until you grow too old. When do we transcend this phase of elderly or youthful dreams; What given age, what sets the stage to take us in-between? |
