wow that is early both going and leaving out............So do the schools start that early so the day care companies can stay in business

I don't know! Elementary doesn't get out until around 4, high school, I think they're out about 1:30.

I'll tell you, anyone who wanted to start daycare around here would make a fortune! The waiting lists run for months. My sister-in-law is on waiting lists at 4 places and none can guarantee her a spot when she goes back to work. Nannies, too, are in high demand. My former mil used to do that, she made about $40,000/year, free place to live, didn't have to buy groceries, paid insurance, car, etc. Sweet deal, if you can stand it.

Yeah, nanny's a tough job. While most have pretty set hours, it's usually written into your contract that you're pretty much on call all the time. I couldn't do it.
