Topic: Between Departure and Deflation

Wrinkled and draped over talcum stones,
a faded symbol of peace has come to rest.
Once swollen taut with tether tugging enthusiasm,
breaking free and beginning ascent.
Hydrated by cumulus caress,
simmered in the suns coercing convection,
floating, falling.

Between departure and deflation,
daring dirigibles know no bounds.
Briefly hooked on infatuating
prongs of promiscuous tree branches.
Closely encountering swerving Cessna's!
Alienated for defying gravity...
for displaying glyphs of peace
on curved mirrored skin.

Wrinkled and draped over conflicted bones,
peace sign tattooed skin putting arms to rest.

This made me think of a balloon. What is it about Techno, if you wish to share.

I think it is about comparing hot air balloons to human life and/or actual skin & bones. Youth vs Age on either or both

Thank you both for reading this poem and sharing your thoughts. smile2

I watched a video of some guys exploring a remote canyon, and one guy commented about how many times he has found deflated gift balloons that ended up in those kind of places.

I started thinking about the different images and messages that are printed on those chrome looking gift balloons. They often display positive images like peace signs. When lost or set free, they're carried by the wind, sometimes great distances encountering all sorts of environments and conditions. Sometimes they're observed by people, sometimes they just float until they fall and decay without being noticed. This seemed analogous to the journey through life that some people experience.

If only a balloon could write and tell of it's journeys?
