Both of my parents came from Italy and we followed the Italian tradition of leaving the decorations up until the Epiphany, January 6th. Luckily we got our presents on Christmas and didn't wait until the Epiphany to get gifts, another tradition.

Yes I agree! When I grew up everything was taken down on New Years Day... way too abrupt of an ending to the holiday season. I'm going to enjoy having them having them up for another week. smile2

We never did it new years day. It was specifically for family time. We spent the day hanging out and visiting and eating of course.

We always took down Jan 2nd. Never understood the folks that left the tree up till Feb. They're gonna be finding pine needles till July.

I always spend the first day of the year cleaning up after, and recovering from the last two months of the year. grumble laugh
