Guns or not, people will still find a way to kill...if only police have guns, then only they can kill faster... http://www.rt.com/news/438017-paris-knife-attack-victims/ RT Mon, 10 Sep 2018 09:08 UTC Paris policemen © Gonzalo Fuentes / Reuters At least seven people have been injured, four seriously, in Paris after a man attacked people with a knife and an iron bar at two separate locations. The attacker is believed to be an Afghan national. In an initial incident, the attacker wounded three people in front of a cinema in the 19th arrondissement late on Sunday evening. A group of men playing petanque tried to stop him by throwing a heavy iron ball used in the popular French game, according to Le Parisien. "He had an iron bar in his hand which he threw at the men chasing him, then he took out a knife," a security guard at the cinema recalled after the initial attack. According to another witness account, a man running with a 25-30cm knife in his hand was pursued by around 20 people. "They started throwing petanque balls at him. Around four or five balls hit him in the head, but they weren't able to stop him," Youssef Najah told AFP. After running away from the scene of the first attack, the assailant continued on Rue Henri Nogueres, where he wounded two English tourists, who sustained head and chest injuries. The aggressor, who was also injured, was finally arrested by the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) of the police. The suspect is believed to be "an Afghan" national, local media report. In total, at least seven people were injured by the individual, four of whom have been hospitalized in a serious condition, police said. While authorities have yet to establish the motive behind the attack, an investigation has been launched into the violent spree. A source close to the probe told Le Parisien that, so far, there was no basis on which to call the incident a terrorist attack I just posted a story about an hour ago that happened this past day in Chicago. A guy with CCW saved two cops lives. The Officer's pulled the suspect over and he jumped out of the car with a highly illegal and fully automatic machine gun and shot one of the Officer's four ties, severely injuring the Officer and tried to kill the second one. The hero with the CCW jumped out of his car and shot damn near killed the suspect (he is in critical condition and isn't expected to make it. Democrats don't want anyone to be able to own guns or have a CCW. They also just announced that investigating those two heroic Officer's for excessive force when the suspect opened up on the two Officer's with a highly illegal fully automatic machine gun. |

I dont know one democrat personally who believes the above statement. Those I know are for 'responsible' gun ownership and enforcement of laws which promote it. I also doubt there is anything on the DNC platform reflecting such an extremist view. |

Ms, I looked through the thread, and I did not see who mentioned the statement "Democrats don't want anyone to be able to own guns or have a CCW." I am in agreement with the other parts of your statement though, and I strongly believe that that one line is a falsehood pushed by a certain "National Organization" to push votes to candidates they lobby. For the record, I am licensed for Concealed Carry, and I am totally against the NRA, believing that they are just a marketing arm for gun manufacturers and that their "safety" ethics have been compromised by profit. Here in the Northeast, we have some tough gun laws, and I believe they work well. I hear friends complain about certain (high-cap)magazines being illegal, but someone is always going to complain. I am not sure that society would be safer if there was a lot more CC going on, as I feel that, especially in a place like a theater there could be a lot more "repercussions" should say, 10 good guys fired back at 10 bad guys, (tunnel vision, friendly fire, etc) The Democrats are not "after your guns", as I hear during every election cycle. We all have to looks past the statements and seek the bias of every statement made, pro- or anti- every candidate. |

Oh, and as far as "if guns are outlawed, next we will have to outlaw steak knives", an interesting thing happened after the Marathon Bombings:
Across from a location of an organization I belong to, there is a shop run by folks I believe by their appearance might be Indian, Pakastani, or some other group from that part of the globe. (It doesn't matter to me where they are from, and I would not mention it except it pertains to the story). For years, they had in their front windows cooking and food serving items, like aluminum tifins (a lunchbox - type item), and... pressure-cookers. Shortly after the bombings, the pressure cookers disappeared from the window... I hope that happened simply because they were sensitive to their neighbors, and did not want to remind anyone about an everyday implement used as a weapon.... not because someone saw their appearance and suggested they were subversive, or encouraging violence |

... Democrats don't want anyone to be able to own guns or have a CCW... this is such a collosally ignorant, ridiculous remark. where do people come up with such foolish things to espouse, let alone repeat over and over? for the record, this is NOT a true statement. it may help the ignorant feel better about the positions that they hold, and the lies theyve told in support of them, but it's just a foolish pice of misinformation that is NOT a universal truth. one should dig a little deeper if one is going to make their debates count when discussing public policies. one needs to start with a truthful foundation if one wants their arugment to be taken seriously. |

Dub, I totally agree. However, it is a statement I hear every election cycle: " [democratic candidate] is coming for your guns". Like I say, it is one of those lies inserted on social media by operatives (I believe) from a certain National three-letter Association, and the more and more it gets repeated, the simple people think that it is a fact. This Association is in the pocket of the gun and ammunition manufacturers, and if you can put fear into the simple people, they will go out and hoard (buy) more guns and ammo "before it gets banned". A buddy of mine owns a gun shop, and laughs all the way to the bank when these simple people buy the latest lie, because they go nuts buying him out of ammo. |
