President Donald Trump's disapproval rating reached a new high in an ABC poll released Friday, and almost half of the respondents said they favored impeachment proceedings.

Sixty percent of those surveyed said they were not happy with the president's job performance, with a whopping 53 percent of them saying they strongly disapprove, a 9 percent increase since April.

His approval was at 36 percent, matching his previous low in an ABC/Washington Post poll.

The poll of a random sampling of 1,003 adults was conducted by Langer Research from Associates from Aug. 25-29 with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percent.

"Trump’s average approval rating since taking office is the lowest for any president in modern polling since the 1940s," read a press release of the poll's results. "One factor: Contrary to his 'drain the swamp' rhetoric, 45 percent say corruption in Washington has increased under Trump, while just 13 percent say it’s declined."

Forty-nine percent said they were in favor of Congress beginning impeachment proceedings against Trump, while 46 percent said they were opposed. Support for impeachment among women was even higher, at 57 percent. The highest support the poll ever found for the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton was 41 percent.

The poll comes after the president's former campaign manager Paul Manafort was found guilty of eight fraud charges and his former personal attorney Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to eight felonies, including campaign finance violations he claims were done at Trump's direction.

Sixty-one percent said that if Cohen's allegations are true, Trump broke the law.

The poll found strong support for special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election meddling. Overall, 63 percent support the investigation, with 52 percent saying they "strongly" support it, and only 29 percent oppose. Thirty-two percent of Republicans said they strongly support Mueller's work.

A USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll released Wednesday found trust in Mueller's investigation at 55 percent. The poll found similar, but slightly more tepid support for impeachment than the ABC poll, with 44 percent in favor and 47 percent opposed.

Trump has publicly derided Attorney General Jeff Sessions for allowing the investigation to continue, but 64 percent opposed firing Sessions and only 19 percent said they supported such a move.

Guess it all depends who does the Ratings....

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/current_events/politics/prez_track_sep04

"Tuesday, September 04, 2018

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 33% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 44% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11 "

Myself these type of polls where you have no clue who they asked or if they target to ask those that disapprove or approve to make their survey's look good..

Most these survey's are done online or phone calls...According to most what I see his approval is still about the same of when he got elected... To me the people spoke and made it happen... Same as when they elected past Presidents..

one cannot be too dependent on polls with politics

although polls were correct regarding Hilary as it related to INDIVIDUALS (popular vote) it did not end up correlating with how the electorate voted

so presidential approval or disapproval, to me, may be useful to determine popularity only, but popularity alone does not equate to the electoral votes ...

Had quite a big deal to do with a couple of counties in Ohio.
Democratic party head already warned the party passing a memo all the way uo the rangs, but nobody would listen because they all was SO sure that Hillary would win, so nobody bothered.
Already in the midterms...Known for nobody of minority voting, took it for granted that it wouldn't matter... head up their 'sses..Pardon my french.
And what happened.
I could write a book on this topic on Ohio alone.

I think polls can make people complacent on both sides.

I think if the poll is in favor of their guy, they get complacent and feel like its in the bag without their vote.

I think if the poll is in favor of the other guy, they get complacent in the idea that their vote wont matter.

If Trump doesn't get elected again in 2020, hopefully the US will put someone in office that will continue to help job growth, economy increase and protection of US boarders !

Two more polls find Trump's approval rating below 40 percent even as economy surges

"A CNN poll released Monday found Trump's approval had dropped to 36 percent, down from 42 percent in August. And the same day, a poll from Quinnipiac University found Trump's approval at 38 percent, down from 41 percent the month before".

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/onpolitics/2018/09/11/trump-approval-rating/1265205002/

So, 62% of the USA is starting to come to their senses?

it will only matter if they are a majority of those who GO VOTE. 2016 only a little over half of those eligible participated and alot of those with more obstacles (some state sanctioned) who will be impacted the most, didnt bother.

I hope so. But I've already been down this road back in the Reagan years. With all the deregulation and tax cuts the economy boomed. But it was very short lived. The economy tanked just about the time his term ended.

I'm looking for the same thing to happen under Trump. He's pretty much doing a replay of what Reagan did. It didn't work with Reagan, and it's not going to work with Trump. So you better take advantage of it while you can. This current boom I feel will be short lived.

I don't look for the recession to be as bad as the one that happened under Bush's watch. That's what I'm hoping for at least.

Economists: Second-longest economic boom in US history ends in 2020 … with a recession.

"60 private-sector economists were recently surveyed by the Wall Street Journal, and their prediction is somewhat dire. 59% of them say the economic expansion that began in 2009 after the Great Recession of 2008 took the wind out of the world’s economic sails will end in 2020. Another 22% pegged the year 2021. What lies beyond that is probably another recession, the depths of which will likely become apparent as things progress — or, rather, regress".
