Heart in Two

I cannot escape the fears within
Isolated from my treasure
Denied my one true pleasure

Meetings...I attend to so very few
Often breaking my heart in two
Concocting love’s magical brew

In my mind I often preview
That moment my eyes discover you
When false hopes are smitten by true

Picnics set on summer sands
Kindred kisses through traveled lands
The product of real love...our own special brand

DECEPTION wakes me from these deepest of dreams
Tearing out desire by its thinned out seams
Reality that which my eyes will never see

I never asked to be the lonely boy
Never begged for the finest of toys
Wanted no part...of life’s diabolical ploys

For today I seek a new election
For I know there never was protection
No chance to ever find love’s direction

Alone to die I look to the skies
For once please acknowledge my hopeless cries
My prayers in vein...my so called ally

Every pain was the multiple of two
Every puzzle solved without aid from you
When all I asked for was something DUE

Oh the crimes my soul must have witnessed
For you to construct this faulty existence
Forgive me god for my demanding insistence
