Hundreds were lined up today to get their kids a Bear ! In Malls all across the country!

Not familiar with the product.

But,
I was a fan of the I Don't Care Bears.
A parody of the care bears.

I didn't know of these bears.

I use to collect beanie babies!

Beanie babies brought about an embarrassing
moment for me.

"Hey dad/mom! Remember that time we waited hours in line at the mall for the privilege to pay a company to provide them cheap labor for stuff?! Yayyyy! I now know what it's like to work in China as well as be CEO and take jobs from Chinese sweatshop kids! Thanks mom/dad!"

I also find it funny when people praise self checkout at stores without realizing what they're actually subsidizing and contributing towards.

The local walmart has been remodeled.
They changed 'everything' around.
Store pickup has become a big thing.
You order what you want and they get it together and you just come pick up the whole shebang. Groceries, electronics, hunting gear, whatever.
They also removed a bunch of regular check-outs and installed row after row of self-checkouts.
Before the remodel there were 16 registers with clerks, 5 speed lines for 12 items or less and 8 individual self-checkouts. Now there are 25 self checkouts at each end of the checkout zone and 6 cashiers (in the center of the zone) and no speed lines. Additionally, their in-store selection assortment has been drastically reduced. You have to preorder most items online now.

As for the "I Don't Care Bears"
I like the "Twisted Care Bears" better

Actually it was Advertised as Pay Your Age to build a bear the malls went nuts many stores were forced to close the lines. All due to the amount of people that showed up. Now they are offering a $15 voucher to those that ask for it..

Okay maybe it was a dollar per year of age.

I seen a short clip of hundreds of people in line with kids.

Anyway it is crazy what people will do to get somethings !

it wasn't a dollar a bear sale....

it was a bear for a dollar for every year of your child's age sale.

but,still.....
it went SERIOUSLY south for hem when they got such a huge response to their sale,that they voluntarily decided to have,and were unprepared for it.
I have bought several build-a-bears for children,and as $15 gift certificate just doesn't come close to what they promised the people,cuz some of those bears can be close to $100.

i don't think that it is fair for the parents,OR to the children who had already been promised by their parents who had told their children that they could get a bear,cuz a child isn't going to understand about the logistics of business...
they just want the bear that was promised to them.
