I’m from Ottawa area. They don’t match you with anyone in your city unless you pay.

There aren’t many people in this group. The other thing I noticed is that I get lots of messages and interest but nobody seems to want to actually meet. What’s that about?

I think you just have to work harder to find the matches. They don’t do it for you.

No mater how often I set the age limit it keeps dropping and increasing it by 10 years either side. I’m not interested in men my daughter’s age. It is a real pain.

And Ontario is HUGE. Going out for coffee with someone from Cornwall is anissue never mind someone from Kitchener.

I agree. I keep getting messages from men my daughters age too. (40’s) What’s with that?

I tried dating one, not doing that again. Irresponsible, immature and so on. I guess that can happen with men of any age lol.

Since she asked me to date guys closer to my age, I will from now on. I think, maybe, it depends.

I had one 19 yr old contact me, several in their 20s and 30s and a lot in their 40's I cannot imagine walking into my granddaughter's wedding with a child on my arm. Tacky

One guy said he wanted to teach me about sex. Huh? I was having babies before he was born!!! Seems us older gals are the "in" thing. Last guy I dated who was 10 years younger than me needed lessons on how to kiss. It was disgusting to have half my face slathered in spit. Did he never watch a man kiss a woman on TV?

I’ve never dated someone my own age, always younger. But I think I will stay within a certain age range.

I just find men my age are so old looking and act old too. I like to have fun, listen to loud music, sing along , go dancing. My ex husband is 5 years younger but looks and acts 10 years older. A real downer. It was never fun doing things with him. I want someone fun.

I agree about the looks and fun part. I look younger than I am. Some men have said I was lying about my age. Oh well. I see no point in lying. My photos were all taken in 2018.

I don’t mind a few years younger but not more than 10. I think the generation we grew up with important. It gives us more in common to talk about if we shared the same things growing up. Where were you when Kennedy or Lennon was shot? Or when men landed on the moon? Do you remember drills in school for what to do if an atomic bomb exploded? Yes I remember those things. They had an emotional impact that clearly stayed with me and helped form the person I am today. But they can also be what music we listened to. Concerts we saw, movies or TV shows we grew up with. These things are the basis for our cultural landscape and I think the more of these things we have in common the better chance we have of meeting the person we are looking for.

That’s not to say differences can’t be fun but I don’t want to be in a position of teacher to someone too much younger

I don’t want to be anyone’s teacher either lol.

I guess 10 years younger would be ok. I’m getting interest from mostly 15 to 20 years younger. I keep turning them down and they keep coming back.

I keep hoping I just meet someone the old fashioned way. My eyes are wide open.

Yesterday I had a fellow who was 42 yrs old from the USA want to be friends with me. I patiently explained why I didn’t date younger or international.

After a few rounds of age doesn’t or does make a difference he offered up his single father and gave me his phone number and begged me to call him.

He could not understand that giving his father’s phone number out to strangers he talked briefly to on the internet might not be a good or smart thing to do. I just realized he gave me the number but didn’t tell me his father’s name.

I can just imagine that call:
Excuse me but your son who I talked to on a dating site gave me your phone number after I said he was too young for me. ..... No this is the first time chatted with him. .... I agree he shouldn’t be giving out your number and told him so but he insisted I call you. .... {click}
