is there a difference between intimacy and sex ? ..and if there is a difference can you explain it ? Your heart is alway involved in intimacy. It can be in sex too, but it doesn’t have to be. Anyone can have sex only lovers can have intimacy. |

Sex is something physical. Intimacy works via a spiritual / emotional connection. Sharing hopes and fears, missing somebody dearly. JMO Oh I didn't think you were from the south but yeah sure southern people think that way. But sure if that works for you I have no problem with that definition. I am from the South? Nah, I am originally from the West of Germany, now living on the Northside of Dublin

Depends on the context of the conversation in which the terms are used. I mean "OMG! We were...intimate...for the first time last night!" "You mean you had sex?" "Yeah, we made love." There can be no difference between intimacy or sex, or there can be a world of difference. ..and if there is a difference can you explain it ?

I hate to tell you, but you're wrong on this....there is never any moment, that two people are more intimate, more emotionally vulnerable and connected, then during love making...whether people want to admit it or not, that connection is there even during so called "casual sex"....and when it's between two people who love each other....it can be pure magic |

Intimacy has nothing to do with sex acts. Wrong Yes if it's a quick one with a random person But in a loving relationship it's the intimacy that makes the sex! So True!!! That's a no! Then it's a shame you've never experienced it! My experiences not relivant

Toody, I hate to tell you, but you're wrong on this....there is never any moment, that two people are more intimate, more emotionally vulnerable and connected, then during love making...whether people want to admit it or not, that connection is there even during so called "casual sex"....and when it's between two people who love each other....it can be pure magic the reason why I say you are wrong is because many older people are intimate without the act of sex because the poor bugger has health issues and cant have sex, but he loves her and they have a special bond I agree that sex and the physical part of intimacy, which is what separates sex from love making. you can have two people love each other without the physical sexual part many people cant have sex because of ( insert what they suffer from) that doesn't mean they are not connected mentally. Many wives and some husband love their spouse and the spouse is unable because of disease like Cancer but they are emotionally connected and just being with them is fine for them that's my two cents. |
