I usually make my own beef stew in the slow cooker but I figured I'd give this a try. Has anyone used this? I already have the crock filled and cooking. Kinda over-did the prime rib stew meat tho. I noticed that the sauce is pretty thick, I added about a half a packet of water as well. I tasted the sauce and its strong out of the packet. McCormick also makes some other slow cooker sauces. I'm kinda waiting to see how this turns out before I buy them. I purposely added no additional seasonings. Just meat, potato, carrot, celery, sweet onion, the sauce packet and a lil water. |

Yeah, my first time using a pre-mix. Mostly, I'm just curious (and a tad lazy)
It took me bout 10 minutes start to finish to prep with most of my time being spent on the veggies and cleanup. Here are some of the product line: http://www.mccormick.com/spices-and-flavors/cooking-sauces/slow-cooker-sauces I also saw this: Might try that one next... |

Well, If you want alcohol of a specific flavor, bring that. I have some wines and mixers tho.
Lets see... You could bring a cold berry desert or a berry topped pie, I have canned whipped cream so I got that covered. Should be done and ready round 6 or 7 pm. Bring swimsuits, we can hit the beach for a night swim after the Sun goes down. Then we can come back and have drinks around the firepit and roast some Giant Marshmallows. I have chocolate and different flavors of Graham crackers plus a bunch of other yummys for great gooey goodness. Ever tried a Bailey's S'mores? |

Calculation of odor activity values (OAVs; ratio of concentration to odor threshold) revealed 3-mercapto-2-methylpentan-1-ol, (E,E)-2,4-decadienal, (E,Z)-2,6-nonadienal, (E)-2-decenal, (E)-2-undecanal, and 3-hydroxy-4,5-dimethyl-2(5H)-furanone as the most potent odorants.
There now you can imagine you can smell it. |
