Hah, was just gonna say that about staying in shape  When does the season start or has it already? Is there shift work involved too? This isn't an interrogation, I'm just being nosey
The Island season begins on April 27th, most businesses don't open until the first or second week in May. We open on May 17th. Once the other workers get here and we are opened, my hours and job will change. I'll be helping in laundry with folding for a couple hours and then going to the front desk. My main position is Front Desk and will be evening shifts... around 2pm until 8pm. Once that starts, then I'll switch to bike riding to keep in shape

Not Saturday, we worked too late and they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. I'll go tomorrow, if we get out of work on time.

Will you be able to have all the rooms ready in time?? That sounds like a lot of work before visitors start arriving. Photos of the inn look lovely. Think I said earlier that they have an Olde World feel about them. Yes, my roommate and I are both cleaning, so it's about two rooms a day. Sometimes more. Yesterday we got 4 done. Depends on how dirty the room is. We're both detail oriented so are getting all the stuff that usually gets overlooked. The managers are doing a lot of the maintenance and hallway cleaning. So there are 4 of us working on it right now. |

It always helps when your coworker has the same work ethics. I used to job share and my colleague, I felt, didn't do her fair share and it just builds as resentment. Nothing worse. I love job satisfaction and knowing I did a good job and I expect you'll be the same Yes, that makes it nicer for sure. She's faster than me, but also has way more experience cleaning condos and other kinds of rooms at resorts. She's done it for several years prior to this job. |
