Of course this topic could be influenced by generational factors, meaning perhaps I am just an old fogie who knows little or nothing of more recent songs.
but my favourite is ''In Dreams'' by the incomparable Roy Orbison. The phrase 'hopelessly romantic' sums up this song for me. The lyrics are straightforward, plain language, never overblown, He knows she is gone, he has no hope of ever seeing her again ........ Go to sleep everything is alright.. |
