Did a Demo at a store today (Projections for Fall Crop of Peaches). It looked great! Young Punk Director fed me some line about front table and side tables. "This is your show pony. These are your work horses."
I pointed at the tables. "These are my pack mules." Pointed at him. "This is my Jack A$$." I won't be contracting for Georgia Sweets any more. When someone offers up some mundane words....even STARTS to say, "When a door closes....There are plenty more....It's not my first rodeo..etc.".. *SLAP*! What might be your reaction? |

What might be your reaction? When life gives you a lemon . . . [Moves out of Beachfarmer's reach.] . . . make lemonade. |

I use them all the time. I had no idea they might make people mad.
Thanks for the warning. I’ll try to catch myself next time. But if at first I don’t succeed, I’ll try, try again. |

I'll get back on my horse after this episode Like everything it's about context, and in many cases a shorthand for what you are trying to say. I actually enjoy colorful language and metaphor. It this case it just seemed a lame attempt at condescention. One that's getting a bit stale..."Livin the dream"..(when you ask how someone is doing). |

This is another fine mess you got me in to Stanley See...Now that's a good one! It offers up age and intelligence acknowledgement to someone who gets the reference. What we DON'T have here is a failure to....... |

Sometimes they’re so overused, it’s like they’re beating a dead horse. Always thought that one is very crued |

I should have used that.
"That's so overused it's like beating a dead Store Director." |

So many of these come from horse talk. |

So many ARE cruel to animals...beating horses and skinning cats.
I just want to live in a world where a chicken can freely cross the road without being questioned about intent. |
