I love that my friends love me, however friends that love you are biased (to you and 3rd party) and blind to chemistry.

No. I had that happen in the past. I didn't like the setup!

Over the last year, two of my closest girlfriends have tried to get me out with half a dozen cousins, co-workers or their husband’s buddies. I had a chance to meet each of them once or twice before making a decision about whether I’d allow them to set me up. And each time I’ve been dumbfounded as to how little my best friends seems to know about my taste in men.

I would allow them to suggest but final decision to go on a date remains mine.

Sure .. my close friends know me really well and the type of man that interests me .. taking a chance and remaining open to possibilities is the best way to meet someone special . .. however ., I would suggest a group get together where we can observe each other and decide if we want to pursue an actual date .. that way there is no pressure on either :-)

Hi

Not exactly for a date. But a "real and good friend" can introduce someone to you because this person is a reliable and good person and friend;maybe she/he is a member of her/his family. Don't close the door completely.
A good and genuine friend only wish good things for you. At least;a first step is better than nothing; after that; you decide the rest to follow. |

How many of you would rely on a friend or friends to set u up on a date? I am not afraid to ask for a date but at the same time I would not be against a friend setting me up on one because my friends know me and what I look for in a lady. All ladies are special, but one day a very special lady will cross my path and make everything beautiful. |

How many of you would rely on a friend or friends to set u up on a date? To me, the keyword here is "Rely". That means if the first person they select for you isn't the right one, you rely on them for the next and the next and the next. It removes YOU from the selection process because you are relying on them to find someone for you. Not only would my personailty and wisdom not allow such a thing to happen, I wouldn't put the responsibility for my happiness on them. My X was introduced to me by a friend but it wasn't a setup or a date. I pursued her even tho it was not his intentions. When my marriage failed, I never even considered blaming him. I think I'll find my own way, thank you. |
