Topic: What would it take? | |
---|---|
Hey mingle guys at least the very real ones, in a scenario that you would like to get to know a girl beyond a dating app, what does it take? I mean surely love will never be the reason because physically you haven’t been with her. What would it take for a man to travel half across the globe to get to know a woman? And when does a woman believe that he is really going to go that far? Please don’t answer with the love bit it is overrated. This is not about tips on how to get a guy but just curiosity on why or what makes a guy go the extra mile. I do hope my hopelessly romantic side does not get crushed with the real answers lol

Well for me we would have had to be communicating for sometime.. maybe 6 months or so (that could be shorter or longer). It's funny being in an online "relationship", you do develop strong feelings for that person, especially if things have been going well between you both. I think over time both would be talking about meeting and plans would slowly be put into place until the big day arrived where you head off on what could be heaven forever after or a disaster. I say disaster because things can be great online but there can be unseen obstacles that one or the other can't get over so it ends there and then. It actually happened to me because the other party didn't let on about certain things that I had problems with. So I got on the plane and came home.
This was back in 2000 I went to the USA for a month. We drifted apart after that. |

I suppose you could call it love but that maybe a bit strong.. more of affection I guess.
I probably would do it again if all the planets were aligned meaning I had the time and money etc. But I don't know about moving to another country because that was one thing about the USA trip that I felt I wasn't sure if I could live there. I've heard it many a time by Aussie's who go overseas and they all come back saying Australia is the best country in the world. There is a very strong feeling of mate ship here. Mainly because we are so far away from conflict, we have a great life style etc. But many do make the move to another country and stay. Sorry.. yes she did have strong feelings and she didn't want me to leave, crying all the way taking me to the airport. |

Would you something like that in a similar situation.. go to them I mean.

What would it take for me to travel half the world for a woman I barely know - even with a hundred thousand shared emails ?
An act of God. |

Would you something like that in a similar situation.. go to them I mean. I would if both of us really want to be together but the thing is I give up easily. Like when you said she was crying when you left, I would not do that coz if you wanted to go, I am that kind of person to just let you go and will not show my tears. Those who stay are meant to stay that’s how I see it and those that don’t never was meant to be. I hope that someday you will find your meant to be sir . Blessings to you. |

Hi sceptical . Not getting at you .. but I do not understand why a woman expects a man to do the travelling ( or fund a woman to travel .. perhaps ask yourself what would it take for you to fly half way around the world to meet a man. I am sure you will arrive at the answer to your question . As for me .. it would take a lot of planning and not something I would do on a whim . I would have to know him really well and be confident our connection would survive reality Blondey I must confess i will never make the first move to meet someone out of my country as I feel safer. Now I know why I would go to a man after I’ve known him face to face. This question is for men who haven’t seen the woman and yet would want to go the extra mile. Is it the physical? Or is it something intangible? Would you meet someone outside of your country just so that you could know him better? |

I've been trying to find "her" for sometime now but no luck.. Thanks for those kind words. I am not perfectly screwed right like most humans are in fact I need a hammer to my head maybe sometimes lol. Maybe it’s not luck too? Maybe it’s being at the right place at the right time? |

Anyone who took a hammer to your head would have me to deal with.. I could imagine anyone spoiling your beauty.. You look very good to me.

Also , I’ve been hearing it a few times already this past few days that I don’t know wether to believe or get scared or just ignore it lol. Why would men say they will go that extra mile? Should I call their bluff? Is that the right term even?

Noo put that hammer away.. there's a good girl..hehe
For sure it's what's on the inside.. that's the good part in finding out after the visuals.. In most cases the inside matches the visuals and even better, that's when love starts.. when the two hearts are talking to each other. Yes we chatted on a video program of the day called ICQ.. it's still around but it's totally different now, we also used other video programs as well. We both felt we needed to take it further, she was very happy when I told her I was coming over. |

We must just believe that things happen for a reason and that it is all for the best. |

What do I have to lose? The worst thing would be my heart but that should be a good thing right lol. The thing is what if he’s a kidnapper or Isis or a professional con artist ? Kidding aside it’s not that safe or at least yes I am not confident I can handle the situation on my own
