http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/plum-line/wp/2016/09/05/trumps-history-of-corruption-is-mind-boggling-so-why-is-clinton-supposedly-the-corrupt-one/?utm_term=.ad0b35fac2e5 Snippets: 1. The story re-emerged last week when The Post’s David A. Fahrenthold reported that Trump paid a penalty to the IRS after his foundation made an illegal contribution to Bondi’s PAC. While the Trump organization characterizes that as a bureaucratic oversight, the basic facts are that Bondi’s office had received multiple complaints from Floridians who said they were cheated by Trump University; while they were looking into it and considering whether to join a lawsuit over Trump University filed by the attorney general of New York State, Bondi called Trump and asked him for a $25,000 donation; shortly after getting the check, Bondi’s office dropped the inquiry. But here’s the thing: We don’t know the answers to those questions, because almost nobody seems to be pursuing them. 2. And the comparison with stories about Hillary Clinton’s emails or the Clinton Foundation is extremely instructive. Whenever we get some new development in any of those Clinton stories, you see blanket coverage — every cable network, every network news program, every newspaper investigates it at length. And even when the new information serves to exonerate Clinton rather than implicate her in wrongdoing, the coverage still emphasizes that the whole thing just “raises questions” about her integrity. 3 When it comes to Trump, on the other hand, we’ve seen a very different pattern. Here’s what happens: A story about some kind of corrupt dealing emerges, usually from the dogged efforts of one or a few journalists; it gets discussed for a couple of days; and then it disappears. Someone might mention it now and again, but the news organizations don’t assign a squad of reporters to look into every aspect of it, so no new facts are brought to light and no new stories get written. 4.It’s not that there isn’t plenty of negative coverage of Trump, because of course there is, but it’s focused mostly on the crazy things he says on any given day. 5.That’s important, because we may have reached a point where the frames around the candidates are locked in: Trump is supposedly the crazy/bigoted one, and Clinton is supposedly the corrupt one 6.And it means that to a great extent, for all the controversy he has caused and all the unflattering stories in the press about him, Trump is still being let off the hook. |

True. and I still hear the argument 'what choice did we have?" and the statements about how 'corrupt' Hillary is and how Trump merely 'says whacky things."

True. and I still hear the argument 'what choice did we have?" and the statements about how 'corrupt' Hillary is and how Trump merely 'says whacky things." every action in life is a choice. My point was the rationale given that it was about Trump being less 'corrupt' doesnt really mete out with the reality of Trumps past. |

True. and I still hear the argument 'what choice did we have?" and the statements about how 'corrupt' Hillary is and how Trump merely 'says whacky things." There is a choice. The choice to nominate and support the best candidates for the job. The choice to downvote candidates instead of supporting the political party and the candidate that throws the most money at it. We have had a lot of lawyers, a few business men and even an actor. What about a doctor, we haven't elected a doctor yet. Better yet, how about a psychologist. We could probably benefit from someone that knows how to deal with insanity. Or...better yet, someone that represents the people and does what we expect from a president? That would be a change. |

Carson had potential, I dread to think what Washington would have done to him. Something that strikes me as odd is that lawyers have a reputation of being underhanded, lying, shysters. Yet, being a lawyer is regarded a highly praised career for politicians? We nominate the strangest people to represent us. |

I think the problem is how do you know you voted in a dumbazz until they're in office and it's too late..there's no telling who would've been a better president even in the past cuz ya never know what kind of corrupt chit goes on that may eliminate the best pres we may have ever known. In my opinion as far as Trump and Hillary I think their both corrupt and whack in their own special way..as far as which one is worse ..still remains to be seen..by the time we find out it's always too late.. It's like the older you get the less naïve you become and I felt better when my ignorance was bliss... |

My guess it is a money/power elite group. I nominate Frank, I second, all those in favor say aye, all those opposed say Get the 'eff out of here Frank. Or In secret, Frank, pull out of this nomination or we will boycott your suppliers and make it impossible for you to ever do business again. Or, He Frank, remember when you were seeing that woman in college, well, she was married at the time and has your bastard love child. You know we can convince her to sue you at just the right time. We DO have the money. |

Seems more of an opinion piece. for all the controversy he has caused and all the unflattering stories in the press about him, Trump is still being let off the hook.
So basically an opinion posted on media about the failure of the media? Or basically "A janitor walks into a bar with a huge pile of cow crap in his hands, throws it on the floor and says 'look at all this crap that was sitting out there, ain't somebody gonna clean it up?!'" |

It's gettin' to the point that I don't know what to think any more..I wonder if we ever really had a say so as to who runs this country. The internet has sure opened a lot of avenues that I never gave any thought to..No telling what's being manipulated these days.. I only wish I was good enough with the computer that I could hack me up a mass of bitcoins..lol |

the first step in finding a candidate who truly has the
best interest at heart, for all the people in America, would be overturning the Citizens United ruling.. get the big money out of politics and replace it with honesty.. |

I think its odd that an occupation's reputation takes a front seat to the individuals reputation. I dont care what profession someone was in , a businessman can be just as corrupt and dishonest as a politician or a salesman or a real estate agent. What I wish was more important was that INDIVIDUALS track record of skills, experience, and (in the case of the Presidency) social skills and civic service. |

Or basically "A janitor walks into a bar with a huge pile of cow crap in his hands, throws it on the floor and says 'look at all this crap that was sitting out there, ain't somebody gonna clean it up?!'" it was a reporter and their opinion about how mainstream reporting is. Kind of like a teacher stating an opinion about the school system being broken, more like and yes it was also an article in the form of a commentary |
