Topic: The What Year Game | |
---|---|
Wanna play a game? Wanna learn a little something in the process? i'm not sure if it will take, but I will give it a shot.
I was thinking. How many people really know what happened the year they were born? Sure you may know a little based upon things that really impacted the world, but do you know the small stuff? OKAY.... here's how you play. Without going back to the JSH profile of the person ABOVE YOU can you guess what year they were born based solely upon facts from the year they supply (or just an educated guess)? You can't cheat. You're not allowed to do any web searches based on the info they supply. You just have to make an educated guess. Then after you guess, research your own birth year and you will be surprised at how much you never knew. Then repost this bulletin to your friends. Laugh a lot and Smile often, Billy ================================================ Let's play! Here goes..... I share this birth year with celebrities like: Will Smith, Halle Berry, Lucy Liu, Celine Dion, and Owen Wilson Overlooked History (without obviously giving the year way)... 1. The London Bridge is sold for 1 million dollars and is later re-erected in Arizona. 2. Johnny Cash marries June Carter. 3. Jerry Lewis does his 3rd MDA Telethon. 4. The first heart transplant takes place. Average Costs and Income: 1. Gas: 34 cents per gallon 2. Average New Car Price: $2,822.00 3. Average New House Price: $26,600.00 4. Movie Ticket: $1.50 5. Pay Phone: .10 cents 6. Hershey Chocolate Bar: .05 cents 7. A 6-Pack of Beer: .99 cents 8. McDonalds introduces the Big Mac and it sells for .49 cents 9. A First Class postage stamp is raised to .06 cents 10. Baseball minimum annual salary is $10.000.00 a year 11. The annual household income is under $8,000.00 a year. Technology: 1. The first home video games are in prototype mode, a patent is obtained, and Atari and Pong do not hit the consumer market until four years later. 2. The first ever ATM machine is installed by the First Bank of Philadelphia. 3. The first Boeing 747 rolls out. 4. The first 911 emergency phone system is introduced in Haleysville, AL and begins operation 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Coincidentally, it was first called nine-eleven service, but caused too much confusion because people could not locate an 11 button on their phones (that is the honest to godness truth). Keep in mind that this same year The 10 digit phone was upgraded and the # and * symbols for future telecommunication advances were added. So this also confused people. CAN YOU GUESS MY BIRTH YEAR? |
