Topic: A soldiers call | |

A little something I wrote last year for those who protect us.
A Soldiers Call Long ago in a far away land, Brothers of mine did take a stand. They stood for justice and stood for truth, To stand for justice, and give their youth. Younger now from days that passed, They stood for glory and stood fast, Guarding the lands we all desire, They stood strong, under deadly fire. Who are these men who stand for truth, Who are these men who give their youth. Who are these men who give their all, Who are these men who stand so tall, Who are these women who stand beside, Who are these women who help and guide, Who are these women who stand by these men, Who are these people who guard the glen. Think of these people women and men, They guard the flag and do not pretend. They stand up for justice one and all, They give their life when duty will call. Even in deadest darkest of night, These fearless soldiers do see a light. It shines brighter as they can see, Fighting so bravely for you and me. As they march or seek in the night, Dangers we know could snuff out their light. Carefully aimed by colonels and staff, Into the fray with none who will laugh. Wave in honor to those who will share, All of the life their body can bare. Do not mock these soldiers who fight, Guarding the walls each deadly night. I will salute you, these soldiers so tall, Those who will give life, and liberty all. Liberty, Life, precious indeed, If you would ask a soldier in need. He will answer as he stands tall, Never in need is my duties call. Call on me now if you need my help, I will protect you from seas filled with kelp Look over there I show you my wealth, My M16 filled and the latest stealth. That is all I use to help those in need, Today it’s my duty, My Duty indeed. Never mourn me when my soul leaves, My life is given, for those who will greave. Greave for the day that liberty falls, My M16 empty and my countries walls. If this were to happen and you found a clip, Please slip it, and pull the bolt quick. These are the things that hold liberty’s gold, Words from a soldier, and by a bard told. I tell you now a soldier is true, He stands proudly, for red, white and blue. He stands boldly, for me and you, He stands tall, for all that we do. He stands alone, sometimes for days, He stands in mud, lost in the haze. He stands with pride, on Liberty’s walls He stands with friends, when duty calls He stands alone, in a far away land, So long ago, this soldier does stand. Answer me this and think real hard, Would you stand alone in this big yard. Miles away from family and friends, Standing alone, a yard to defend. Kids will play, and poets will call, Soldiers alone will stand on the wall. Guarding the things on liberty’s wall, Guarding our liberty’s, A Soldiers Call. |
