Topic: From "in a relationship status" to being "best friends" | |

my ex and I just broke up last week. It was really hard for me because the reason why we broke up isn't really that bad. Now she offered me to become her best friend. While I'm still suffering from a heart break, should I still accept her offer or no?

That's definitely an individual choice and different for each person.
Me personally, it would take a lot of time before I was comfortable going from an intimate relationship to a platonic one. Especially if he were the one who broke up with me, don't think my ego would accept the new arrangement very well, to be honest. But it would also depend on a lot of factors and the person I was with. Good luck to you! |

I'm still friends with a few of the women I have tried having a relationship (past casual dating) with and it hasn't been a problem.
I think it depends on both parties maturity and the respect they have for each other. |

I basically see it that she wants to keep you close by just in case a future relationship with someone else falls flat......she will then have you to fall back on. Now, if you take a break from her and then months down the road you two talk and want to be best friends then by all means do it. Just know that your future relationships will hinder this.....women tend to not like to share their man. |

While I'm still suffering from a heart break, should I still accept her offer or no? NO!!!!! Were you begging her when she said you two can just be friends? She must just be feeling sorry for you. She wants you to be her best friend? Are you kidding me?!!!! Doesn't she have girl friends for that? It's going to hurt like crazy but it is not the end of the world. Let her go. Clean break... no contact whatsoever. |

While I'm still suffering from a heart break, should I still accept her offer or no? Only you yourself can decide that, no one else for you. Look inside yourself, get rid from your suffer, anger, offence etc., ask yourself and hear the answer. You might not hear words but you'll have a feeling coming from inside, follow that feeling. Remember that you should be calm and without any emotions inside. It's a kind of meditation. |
