I know this is going to be controversial, and I also know that it is also directed towards children and adults, but I think that Harry should have died. I know that it would be sad, even for me, but how can Harry live a normal life after the life he had fighting the ultimate evil? And if that wasn't possible the ending should have been cooler then ordinary lives, because Harry never had a normal life and a normal one would be torture to him. But this is just me.

I also thought that he should have died. Rowling did an adequate job, though, of giving him a death-substitute experience. I was disappointed by how much she talked up the Deathly Hallows and how they ultimately played almost no relevant role in the story. I was also once again disappointed by how much random filler the book seemed to contain. And the epilogue was absolute rubbish. Overall, I think that it was a mediocre ending to the series, but I have not really felt especially positive about the series since book 4.

EDIT: Oh, come on, people. Attacking/Insulting Other Users? Not even close. Even if J.K. Rowling were a regular here, I wouldn't qualify this thread as an "attack" by any stretch of the imagination. It's just a negative review of a book.

I know what you mean but I think the last book was deffinatly the best of the series, though the whole Ron thing was just dumb.

I was mad about snapes redemption, the ending twist on book six was AMAZING and she just retconned it away

I loved the Snape twist. It finally sense of all the mixed signals that Snape gave out. She is just a great writer I hope she does a more adult book series.

I was prepared to be satisfied either way. It was pretty transparent, really. I fully expected that Snape would not only be redeemed. I was also among those who decided early that Snape and Dumbledore had discussed that Snape would have to kill Dumbledore.

I have to admit, one of the things that I really liked about the 7th book, whether it was intentional or not, was the cavalier approach to moral issues. We got to see both Harry and Minerva McGonagall use unforgivable curses without even hesitating at that "unforgivable" bit.

I kind of liked it. Harry went through an unbelievably difficult life with the Dursleys and then everyone trying to off him, including arguably the most powerful and evil wizard ever. He deserved a happily ever after making kids with a hot redhead.

i liked book seven but i felt that it begun 2 wear a little thin by the end n heres y: in all 6 other books rowling had her charactors in school and there was a MASSIVE amount of literary filler used to detail in the story, it was good id never critisize an author as talented as her but book seven was ALMOST tedious with them running around in the woods for nearly the whole book though as i said, i did enjoy it

If it were me i would have made him an adventurer and he went around getting ride of all the dark arts practices and creatures with or without Ron's sister. But thats just how I see Harry as a person.
