There will be no gifts for me on Christmas but if I could have anything, I would ask for three.
The first would be to be able to see my son wake up on christmas morning and run to the tree like I used to do as a kid and open his gifts. It's pretty hard for us single dads to experience that. The second thing would be to have spend christmas with my mom. This will be my first year without her. I miss all her cookies and candies that she makes during the entire month of December, getting ready for that big day. I lost her to cancer earlier this year and it is going to be so hard without her. The final thing would be the possible start of a new love. This is never a fun time of year when you are alone. |
