Topic: My Uneducated Solutions To Global Concerns | |
---|---|
Hi Peggy, very good, it's made me want to go out and hug a tree! Maybe a good solution is to press the button and start again! Quip Tip Mikey4u: Trees are skeptics by nature. If a tree doesnt hug you back , it probably wasnt ready for all the love you had in store Never take tree rejection personally : Ps: And where is the re-start button of which you speak? :):):) And I thought tree's we're very social things As for the 'button ' It's the big one that our leaders have The trees started losing "that loving feeling" on account of all the jerks peeing on them and chopping them down for paper and what have you .:p Ps: Ohhhhh ....THAT button! My country is too small to have access to those Buttons, but lets put Trump in charge of that. He seems to know what he's doing Peggy, becareful of saying all the jerks peeing on the trees.....Mikey, don't men always pee on trees? are you one of them but anyway Peggy, I heard that urine could help grow mushrooms they are also part of our ecosystem and have their benefits, they are good antioxidant and urine too can cure cancer I heard....eeeewwww Excuse me but I would never pee up a tree! There may be an Indian living in it as I've seen westerns and they live in tree pees! |

Don't ever pee up a tree, it's not a public toilet....and beware if you don't want your butt to be hit by an arrow But kidding aside, another solution to the global problem. If we don't want over crowding , stop construction of big buildings instead build teepees or teepees to maximize space, let's go back to the tribal age but be sure to put a sign...."NO PEEING, THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC TOILET!" , Some jerks may pass by and pee on it |

In the run up to our elections this week the opposition was being interviewed and a woman besides him said 'we should just love each other ' How nieve, if only it was that simple! People cant even muster up enough love to get through their family dinner. Multiply that times a billion. I totally agree with you Mikey4u |

The golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you more specifically 1. Realize that we all impact each other, even things that seem to 'not harm anyone'. 2. If you insist people are 'born' with certain feelings, than respect peoples religious feelings and do no demand they put them aside to accommodate you. There is enough diversity to FIND those who will accommodate without forcing them to. 3. Realize that a persons worth is not tied up in their economic status. No man is an island and everyone gets some 'help' sometimes. 4. Realize that adjectives are not bad or 'divisive' when they merely reflect factual information and background information. We can all be 'human' we can all be 'equal' without all having to pretend to be 'the same'. 5.Protect and guide the younger generation whose brains are still forming(up to 25 years old). 6.Realize that people will have flaws and needs and wants, regardless of their occupational title. Many people technically live off of 'taxpayer' money but still are people and should not be expected to be perfect and constantly at a job. 7. Reject the urge to make things 'equal', by making everything a subjective standard. Social norms and standards are important for structure, as are words and their definitions, and rules and laws. 8. Understand every day you are here is an opportunity to learn and improve. You and noone you know are perfect or you would no longer need to be here, so reject the misperception that people disapproving of something you do or say are 'hateful' of you. Who 'you are' changes in every moment and with every new choice. What you are doing or saying is, in any one of theose moments, only one of those choices and not one that completely defines you I think most of the problems stem from the perceptions we have and promote about each other. When we can believe certain groups are 'less than' we are, we can easily disregard and even harm the individuals who belong to them. A very thought provoking response as usual Ms H. Some of your solutions are seeds for several other threads and I do wish indeed that more of us would be mindful and respectful of diversity of thought , cultures, lifestyles , histories and evolution, goals and challenges. |

Do you have have any suggestions/solutions for global problems?
As a science fiction fan I have read and seen many ways to solve our current society/global issues. Most depictions of utopian global societies are fraught with problems. Even the utopia of Star Trek is riddled with issues. Globally, problems can be unified to a few causes that have wide ranges of outcomes. Prejudice/Discrimination Wealth Inequity Power Inequity or Abuse Resistance to Change Lack of Connection (with others, the environment, distant lifestyles) The Kardashev scale was developed as a way of measuring a civilization’s technological advancement based upon how much usable energy it has at its disposal. It signifies how advanced a civilization is technologically but also indicates the possibility of applied utopian principles. A Type I designation is a given to species who have been able to harness all the energy that is available on planet from a neighboring star, gathering and storing it to meet the energy demands of a growing population. Type II civilization – can harness the power of their entire star (not merely transforming starlight into energy, but controlling the star). We are Type ZERO For more on the Kardashev Scale see this link http://futurism.com/the-kardashev-scale-type-i-ii-iii-iv-v-civilization/ While this scale of civilization is related to energy, it also requires that the civilization solve unity issues that limits their technology. These limits are much of what this topic is about. Right now, the people of Earth have the technology to alleviate many of the worlds problems. Why don't we? World hunger, clean drinking water, housing and medical care problems could be solved but are not. Wealth, power and greed prevents it. Human beings are social animals. Yet we fight among ourselves because of our prejudices and inability to accept change. Our connection with our fellow human beings is lost, jumbled. If you want equality, remove wealth and power. If you want to advance to the next level of unity, accept change. What stops us from building hospitals, schools, rocket ships, transportation networks, desalination plants, global greenhouses and a long list of things the people all over the planet need or could benefit from? Money, Greed, Power, Entitlements Could we exist as a global society with one president? No borders, unified as a single entity working towards a better tomorrow? What stops us? In an ideal world, this would work Tom, but chances are that the one leader who is elected or assigned will most likely fall prey to the same ills that currently erode society ie greed, corruption and intolerance. Sad but true... |

I didn't read this all the way from the beggining but I do believe it's a serious issue all over the globe. We need to protect and value what we have before it's too late. I truly believe it's in our hands/ power and mind to defend, protect our sacred treasures.. sometimes I think it takes more than one individual in order for the big change to happen. It is a very long and expensive process, but I have no doubt that with a little bit of effort from everyone a change will take its course in the right direction. Over the years I have fallowed an indirect/ direct, more or less, just like so many of us do notice : involvement of Political conflicts and unrest in this cube can only exacerbate this problem. |

1. If you want a green earth, plant more trees. 2. If you want to inhale fresh clean air, don't smoke, only chew betel nut; don't ride vehicles only bicycle, horse or just walk 3. If you Don't like how your president govern your country, migrate to other countries you like, that way it will lessen government oppositions 4. Terrorists are everywhere, if you are afraid don't go out of your house, always lock the door for safety 5. To counteract terrorism, own a gun and get yourself prepared to fire, aim and hit the target, let us see who would pull the trigger first All fantastic solutions Dolphin :p They should make you President! :) Oh how lovely that sounds Peggy but I would prefer to be just the First Lady to hold the hand and support the President I want to be that woman behind the success of the President If the President is someone as hot as former President Barack Obama, I would certainly consider the post of First Lady, Dolphin |
