I'm being serious! It's a six and half hour drive from Irvine to Santa Rosa if you miss most of the Bay Area and LA county traffic.

I know this because I've made the drive quite often, since I spend six months of the year (or more) near Santa Rosa, and the rest of the year in SoCal (where all the cool people live). Of course, that's not necessarily an accurate depiction of my life, since in reality I spend more time inside my head than anywhere else. It's quite cozy in there. Lots of empty space though.
