'Clock Boy' lawsuit thrown out in federal court



A federal court has thrown out the civil rights lawsuit filed by the family of the Texas teenager known as “Clock Boy.”

The lawsuit alleged that the city of Irving and Irving school district discriminated against Ahmed Mohamed at Irving MacArthur High School in September of 2015.

Mohamed, a Muslim teenager who was 14 years old at the time, brought a homemade clock to school to show his engineering teacher. But an alarm on the clock went off in his English class and the teacher confiscated it. He was sent to the principal’s office.

Back in the early 90's I worked and went to school with a guy that was a bomb disposal tech during the first gulf war.

He brought into (college) class a (non explosive) replica bomb he built that he then proceeded to disarm and show us how he did it, what makers did to make them and secure them, all sorts of fascinating information. Pretty interesting. He got an "A."

I wonder what would happen if he were to do it in a college class today.

Yes, I saw that. Hopefully, at least SOME of the people who have been wrongly claiming that he had ALREADY been given everything his family asked for, will also notice that (as usual) they jumped to false assumptions.

What is funny they still keep saying it is all over a clock he built. Which in reality he did not build it what he did was take the inside of a clock put it in a brief case had it all rigged where a light came on by the handle.. It looked just like a home made bomb that is why it was confiscated from him.. Then the family moved back to their country cause they were not getting any slack from where they lived..

At the time he did this there was a lot of terrorist and bomb threats going around people had gotten more cautions.

They ended up letting him go back to school or said he could. No charges were brought against him..

Then of all things Obama set up a met with the kid to praise him for what he did when in reality he did not make the clock device from scratch but used a already made clock to make his device a briefcase that would have the alarm go off..... If something like that had been set down and had a blinking light on top look at all the confusion it could have caused..

I think it is great his law suit got shot down... The School only acted as they should at first I don't think charges was filed and all the parents and community went off on it schools must report things of that nature.. In order to keep our children safe..

This is what he made and took to school~~~~ hell he is lucky he did not have a Judge that charged him.

“This lawsuit filed by Clock Boy’s father is yet another example of Islamist lawfare, which is a component of the Muslim Brotherhood’s civilization jihad,” said David Yerushalmi, senior counsel for AFLC.

“The Islamists employ the progressive mainstream media to label any public criticism of a Shariah-centric, jihad-driven Islam as ‘Islamophobic,’ and they add fear and financial ruin to the equation by utilizing the legal system to file SLAPP actions,” he said.

SLAPP, Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation, is used to intimidate “into silence” those who disagree with Islam and Shariah, analysts explained.

“AFLC was formed in large measure to take on Islamists like CAIR who use and abuse the legal system with their cynical form of lawfare to undermine our constitutional liberties – notably free speech,” continued Robert Muise, a co-founder with Yerushalmi of AFLC. “We have confronted these lawsuits across the country in federal and state courts and have defeated CAIR and its minions at every turn. When appropriate, we have won sanctions. This lawsuit will be no different.”

The Washington Post reported the family sued the local school district, its principal and the city of Irving over alleged civil rights violations.

And WND reported last year when the family threatened a $15 million lawsuit if their demands were not met.

Mohamed claimed he moved in part because of “severe psychological trauma” from the school suspension, which was followed by a one-month world tour that included:

1. Honor by President Obama on social media and an invitation to the White House, where he meets the president Monday on the South Lawn at the astronomy event;

2. A meeting with Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, at a science fair;

3. Praise by Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg;

4. Being named the beneficiary of a $20,000 fundraising campaign;

5. An invitation by a Canadian astronaut to visit;

6. An appearance with Dr. Oz;

7. Praise from MIT scientist Chanda Prescod-Weinstein for being “my ideal student”;

8. A proclamation by New York City of “Ahmed Day”;

9. A visit with Sudanese President Omar al Bashir, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for genocide.

10. A visit with Turkey’s Prime Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu;

11. A trip to the Middle East during which, as the Huffington Post described it, he “hung with Jordan’s Queen Rania”;

12. A visit to Mecca as an honored guest of Saudi Arabia King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
