Same here and I'll stop after this, the tide floods when it's coming in, when it's completely in its high tide.
The tide ebbs when it's going out, when it's complete out its low tide. In between is known as slack water. Spring tide is the highest of the high tides. Neap tide is the lowest of the low tides. Both around once a month depending mostly on the moon but the sun as an affect too. I studied navigation but that's the only subject I know much about. Hence my interest. I know a little about it, at work the lagoon sometimes gets covered with the spring tides. Not every month though, seems to happen in the fall and the spring. Haven't studied it much, it's cool that you do, it's very interesting.
