Words describe somthing. a word is a word as long as people understand the word.. Words are used for communication therefore Aint not being a word would be incorrect since there are no limits on words... Bad grammar? different story

Ain't is not a word, but rather a contraction of "am" and "not". It is used throughout the US and most english speaking countries, overseas as well. It is recongnized by Merriam-Webster's Dictionary and is not an incorrect contraction, but rather a less "proper" alternative to "isn't" and "aren't".

aint is a word. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/aint. My mother taught me it wasnt a word either but once it is in the dictionary it is a word, isnt it?
